Jack, sold the Orion, just doesn't have the same pick up or sheer cargo capacity as the C-130, so i took out a loan after selling the orion and bought a shiny new Comabt Talon, drones are ready to go, i also got the newer FLIR system installed in the MC-130 so we are good to go.

HEHE@100 Acre woods
You know I had that same idea, guess watching playtime Disney with Hado Jr is taking its toll on me.
Ballista and I and the wee family will be going up there the day before the actual event to scout things out and check out all possible play areas, trails and all that. Since I myself have only been there once I'm still pretty unfamiliar with it all but it's all fenced in so I'm sure no one will wander off too far. A current topographical map of the area would rule, and could be the basis for a scenario idea I've been thinking about. I'll try to get the exact address out to ye good sir.

hado ill go, sounds like it will be awesome. you may want to take something to mark off the playing feild [spray paint, bright tape, etc] cuz i really think we will need it, expecially if it is all woods.

hmmmm, ...........the last time I checked the going rate for M4 borrowage was (2) newmans and an autographed photo of Dolph Lundgren (sp?), .........of course you could always substitute a mini-Ditka in place of the autographed photo

Til you are raising young children, and experiencing the "fun" of Pooh on a daily basis, you really cannot know the value of naming a military operation after good ol' Winnie. I guess it's the irony - soft & cuddly matched up with death & destruction. Also reminds me of the Teddy Bears in Conker. Anyhow....
I can get some white & flourescent ground marking paint for the area, if need be. Can probably get my hands on some tape too. Let me know.
Spectre - do you want satellite time leased for 24 or 60 hours? The "company's" birds will only be overhead during certain periods of time, hence the odd timeframes. High res color has gotten real expensive, will B&W be OK? You did get Hellfire's for the drones, didn't you? They were offered as a pkg deal, and then we got the free trip (and OICW testing privileges, remember).
See you there guys. Hado, drop me a line when ya' can.

Hi, I'm a total newbie to airsoft and I would be honored if I were allowed to skirmish with such a fine group of individuals. As a newbie I expect to receive a fair amount of hits, so if someone would be kind enough to let me know if it is necessary to wear extra shirts and stuff under the camo I would appreciate it.

It's not needed.
The pain of airsoft is greatly exaggerated. Getting hit in the forehead from less then 20 feet away didn't leave marks for me, niether did an m120 at around the same distance.
A 500 FPS sniper rifle would probably leave a welt, but it'd be a single one anyway.

My friend shot me with the Ithaca yesterday, just for the heck of it and to see how powerful it is, and I got a really nice red welt in my back. First time ever, too...from the crappiest gun ever, too!

frostee, extra clothing is not needed in airsoft, while the projectiles do travel at a much faster fps then paintball guns the ammunition used makes up for it. The only required piece of equipment that is needed to play airsoft is a certified face sealed goggle. Some people do recommend extra padding (clothing), a facemask like in Pball, and/or mouth guard. But the majority of us, me included, go out in our uniform (camo) with our equipment (vest, holsters etc) and a face sealing goggle and that’s it.

See this picture: mywebpages.comcast.net/newmanm4/newman070102a.jpgYou can sacrifice some realism but gain some added protection (I love realism, but love safety more) by using a full face mask and then modifying it by camouflage painting it and cutting out a part of the mask where you have to aim the gun. If you don't get the point of the second part: when you try to aim a gun with a full mask on, the mask smacks into the gun and you have to just spray bbs in a general direction. By cutting out that piece where your mask touches the gun, voila, aiming ability back and full face protection. As an added bonus of camouflaging your mask, you look like a certified "Thing From the Black Lagoon". ;D

Why dont you just try a balaclava?

Most balaclavas will make you sweat like there's no tomorrow, that's why. The ones that don't usually give very little protection.
I used a balaclava from September to May (I think), but after that, it was horrible. A paintball mask has a lot of ventilation but still keeps the bb's out, and if you camo paint it, you won't stick out like a sore thumb.
