Getting shot with a hot gun kinda adds to the realism to me, it sometimes makes you scared for getting shot which is what Real War feels like(I am not saying that getting shot with a hot gun is anything compared to getting shot with a real gun). 350-400 isn't that bad unless you get shot bare(on your hand) or at very close ranges. If I was afraid of getting shot, I would be playing Nerf gun.... ...I was hit in the back with a REALLY hot gun, it hurt like a bitch but did not leave a bruise as I had my ACU for protection. Young Padawan, I think your missing the point between realism and safety. When the risk outweights the reward in any sport, is when the sport becomes dangerous. Soon you'll understand, soon. Just ask Bman (if he's still around) what happens with hot guns at close range. Bman, the guy that was on your show, I will be sure to check out his posts, but like 3 month ago, I was just trying to find his accont but i don't think it exist no more.

I would just throw out there that it might be a good idea for SFOD or whoever is hosting any other future event to designate which radio channels can be used by each team. I'm not sure it caused a lot of problems but the coalition side was using at least 4 different channels and I believe one of them was 5 with a privacy code. Then some or all of the Sudanese were on 5 w/o a code (I know this because their commander's son asked my brother and I to use a radio to call his dad while we were sitting out the morning game). According to Zorak's radio guide: www.affronter.org/Airsoft/radios.html this is bad because you're interfering with each other's comms. I don't know if it was a problem at all @ BD, and maybe the coalition guys or sudanese switched to a different channel, but in the future it might be a good idea to tell the teams what they can use, even if it just means using the chart Zorak put at the end of his guide.

As long as the other team doesn't know what channel everyone is using. Otherwise someone will switch to the other team's channel and listen in. It always happens.

Thanks for bringing up that point Knief. It happened, and yes, we definately should have done something. But why we didn't, is beyond me. I do know I got a little hot headed Sunday in one of the games, and just walked away from the action and cooled down. That also happened to be right after one of thsoe said nasty hits, and after I said hit and raisd up to go respawn. I just "ran my mouth" and walked away so as to not create a scene, which is the last thing event staff needs to be doing. I SHOULD have stoppped play and rechrono'd him, but I didin't. That's my mistake, and noone else's. That may be particlaly to cause for me doing nothing. Even though it wasn't the best idea, it was still a smart one for the situation I was in. Sometimes I simply loose my temper far too easily and just take out my anger on anyone around, and I didn't want that to happen, so I did what was in the best of my personal interestes at the time, which in this case was to just walk away.
I have talked to Corey about some of that since then, and we're going to have to make a crack down on the dealio with hot weapons within engagements on the field..or even in the city for that matter. Not that we haven't already, as anyone who ahs played our field know how strict we get with hotter than cqb weapons. We're workin' our way through obstacles, and figuring out the bets way to go about things. Some problems we fix ver quick, while other may take a bit of trial and error(in our case, severl weeks/events). But we've definately amde some big progress in all areas since this time alst year, adn we'll continue to progrees until we're at 100% perfection, which, sadly, wil never happen.

I totally understand that, Connors. Gameplay or not, sometimes it's always best to walk away. I'd rather see somebody get hit with a hot gun than see a fist fight break out on the field, especially with an organizer involved. I'm glad you guys are looking to improve, and that shows a lot of consideration and care from the event hosts. It's not often you see hosts actively trying to improve every aspect of their games like this, and your event attendees will appreciate it.
Just a side note about how to handle it, you don't have to stop play to get to one problematic player. Go in with a kill rag (or blue helmet) on and just yank him out and run him up to the chrono. If he's shooting fine, escort him back into play. If he's shooting hot, do whatever you've got to do to punish him.

How about you crack down on non-hit calling cheaters? I know it takes a lot to prove such, but seriously it's a MAJOR problem at SFOD. And without any punishment, they just continue to cheat on a consistent basis. I can complain all day about individuals not calling their hits, but it doesn't matter, someone else will be their friend and not believe me, or think I imagined it. Honestly, I can't blame them since most people over react, but really, something needs to be done about reffing inside the city where it's blatant when people are hit.
For instance, the Blackwater chump with the pump shotty was shot over 5 times by myself, and then I walked away telling my team not to expect him to call his hits, and then another guy walks out of the city complaining about the same guy. Coincidence? I think not. Is he a well known guy? Yes, that's why he wasn't kicked out or reprimanded, the mods at SFOD (and other fields for that matter) don't care if it's a "friend" of theirs, they automatically assume they are innocent.

One thing i was not going to bring up, I decided i had to. I'm not trying to single this group out at all. But, on top of all the problems you know about. During game play Me and MisterMiles had a clear shot at one of them. But, as we looked he had removed his goggles, And his eyes were not protected what so ever. Fogged or not that is a NO NO! We should have brought it to you sooner but, I didn't want to act like a snitch.

That's not being a snitch, that's being safe. You would have been applauded by many for it. People who do that deserve to be tossed from the game and banned for a while until they figure out the meaning of safety.

The best thing to do is first yell at them to put their fucking goggles on, and then go tell a mod.

Google Wiping was an issue that people had to take care of there. I cleaned my goggle NUMEROUS times, but everytime I did I tried to make sure i was in cover or had my face aimed at the ground, both COULD result in a freak BB accident, but that would have been my fault.
Also yeah, people not calling outs was an issue. I got questioned if I didnt call an out by an opponent because a pellet skimmed my hair, I didnt want to start anything, I told him if he seriously thought he hit me, I would be a good sport and call out for him. He said maybe he just thought he did and kept a level head and walked back to respawn.
But yeah many people (especially a few from BW would not call hits, but walking back they complained we werent calling our hits....Sooo maybe every just hallucinates and thinks they see their bb's nailing their opponents....or are just being complete and utter douchebags and ruining the game (not calling hits)

Well, there was this real nice guy that was by my side, so when I said "Oh shit, my goggles all fogged up", he put put arm in front of my face so I could wipe my goggles. I think that would be a good idea to have your teammate give you somekind of protection if you absolutally need to wipe.

WTF!!! Under NO ciscumstandas should you ever remove your goggles on the field! Unless your in 'safe zone' that's been deemed safe to remove our goggles. Or if the field is not in play.
If you goggles fog, you have the following options: 1. Walk off the field or to a safe area and then remove your goggles. 2. Get anti-fog goggles, spay, or a anti-fog fan. 3. Continue to play with them on and fogging. or... 4. Go home!
DON'T BE AN IDIOT! DON'T EVER REMOVE YOUR GOGGLES DURING A GAME!

Everyone's goggles were fogging up every 2 seconds because of the rain, even Hunter's ESS goggles, I just walked back down from the top from cleaning my goggles. I did not remove my goggles at all, I just stuck my deadrag into into with a through a little opening I pulled open.

Doesn't matter robin, the second you crack the seal on your goggles you better be off the field.
Fog or no fog you walk off the freakin' field ricky tick.
