Here was my response to someone who had requested more information about missions 4 and 5.

Both missions are, as are all the others, straight forward with no hidden tricks or things to make you fail. This is honest to goodness, nothing up our sleeves CQB competition with points awarded for conducting yourself in a fast, professional manner.

Mission 4 is simply a target range. It will be a timed mission and will begin when you hear the horn and leave the starting line. It will end when you yell time at the last shooting station; there are seven stations total. In between you'll move from station to station, shooting until you hit the target, then proceeding. Shoot and move, shoot and move. Stations 3 and 4 will require you to shoot from opposite shoulders with a magazine change in between. This means that no matter your hand dominance you will shoot one target with your weak hand. All the other stations will be shooters choice.

Several of the stations will require that you shoot from either a kneeling or prone position. All others will be shooters choice. After the required prone shooting station you will need to transition to your secondary weapon (pistol). You engage two targets with your pistol, the last target for accuracy. When you feel you have hit the accuracy target as well as you can you will yell, "Time!" This will let the timekeeper know you are finished with your run.

This is a semi-auto range only and you will have only one run at this, so training before hand and listening to the Range Master will be critical to your doing well. The distances between the stations is not that far, about 40 feet for the farthest, but this will definitely get your heart going.

The targets range in size from 4"x6" to 11" round and will provide immediate feedback. There will also be a Range Master downrange to let you know when to proceed. Distances from the targets range from 25' to 140' so you'd better have the sights set on your AEG good to go for some distance.

Points will be awarded based on how many seconds remain from 100 and what the hightest point hit is on the accuracy target. Points will be deducted for failing to perform the magazine change and/or failing to transition to your pistol and using full-auto.

The final score of all individuals on your team will be averaged together to come up with your team score. The team score will be used in tallying the event winners.
The single highest individual score for the day will also be a winner.


Mission 5 is the pairs shooting course. It will require you and a partner to walk quickly through an office area and engage hostile targets while not engaging non-hostile targets. Can't be much simpler than that.
It will start when you or your partner touch the first door and will end when you exit the last door. At this time there are nine hostiles and six non-hostiles. You'll have to decide which is which, but it will be obvious. This is also a timed mission and the major point awards will come from (time) the number of seconds left from 180 and from the 10 points you'll earn with each hit of a hostile.

You will be moving through an office space, so there will be times when you have the option to split with your partner and tackle more than one room at a time. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PARTNER! You will be penalized if you are more than one room away from your partner at any time. This means that one of you can cover from a door while the other enters the room, but you should never be more than a doorway away from your teammate. Staying with your partner will automatically earn you extra points for "covering your partner".

You will also receive extra points for communicating with your partner during the mission. This can mean verbal communication like, "I've got a target on the right" or non-verbal, such as a finger countdown til you enter the door. This is basically a freebie, because every team should be communicating.

Of course, any hit to a non-hostile civilian will result in a point loss, as will the use of full-auto fire (this too is a semi-auto mission). If you miss seeing and engaging a hostile target you will lose points. Only one hit is required to 'kill' a hostile (or non-hostile) and only one of the team needs to engage. This means that you can choose to designate one person in the pair as the shooter, if the other person has a problem telling the difference between a cell phone and a handgun. We don't care who shoots as long as the shooting gets done. Also, there is one dark room... you will need a light... bring a light!


The targets for this mission are the standard human paper targets you'll see in most any "kill house". Pay attention to what they're wearing and holding. You will be going through some doorways that will stick and may require a little 'kick'; they'll be marked. Check all the doors. The Range Master/timekeeper following you will be able to answer any questions on the fly (it will be me), but all but one door in this office area leads to something important and that one door will be marked.

Without telling you where the targets are I can tell you that you'd better be spot on with your sights for this one. Some of the hostiles have hostages.

Need a rules clarification please. Typo or do Mission Rules supercede Special Rules?

As listed under Special Rules-

"players may only carry a total of 300 rounds (in any combination of standard and low-cap magazines or shotgun shells) onto the field with them for each Mission"

As listed under Mission 2 Rules-

"Each player may carry up to 400 rounds in any combination of standard and low-capacity magazines."

The way I perceive map 3 is that the room at the top of the west stair is in play, but the room at the east end is not?

Room 3-03 is accessed below the stairs, correct?

Good eye, Savage. The 400 rounds is a typo. The 300 round facility rule is the one to plan for.

Also, you are correct on the stairwell thing. The room at the top of Stairway 2 is a small, dark room. It's where the old freight elevator cage is. The Stairway 1 opens directly into the long hallway on the upper floor, which is part of Mission 2. And yes, room 3-03 is the boiler room, which is accessed from underneath Stairway 2.
