CODENAME: Thunder 24-hour Event 8-14/15-04 Chicago Codename: Thunder 24-Hour Airsoft Event August 14-15th, 2004 Chicago With International tensions at an all time high, the President of the United Stated needs some good PR, and fast. Luckily the Chiro Cartel from Columbia has given him an opportunity… Having tired of the increasing US presence and interdiction of their illicit trade, the Chiro Cartel has decided to take matters into their own hands. Using their well equipped rebels the Cartel has desended from the Columbian mountains into the population centers to wreak havoc and spread anti-Americanism amongst the Columbian people. US Special Forces and Black Ops have been called in to squelch the rebel insurgents and restore peace to war torn Columbia. The President wants decisive results that will look and sound good on the evening news…. Featuring: 24 hours of intense Airsoft action, including night play, an Armored Vehicle with twin G3s in a turret, pyrotechnics, props, multiple objectives, special weapons, secret missions, regeneration, prizes, team and personal player awards, cool competitions, contests, a mess hall and more! Food, drinks and Airsoft accessories will be available on site- along with free camping (with fires!), available. This event will be filmed by Summit Lake Entertainment and VHS/DVD copies will be available soon after the event. Matt “Downtown” Brown of Minnesota Airsoft will command the Columbian Rebels Josh “Breech” Perlmutter of Ci-For / Chicago Airsoft Fame will command the U.S. Forces Whose side are you on? Thunder will be limited to 150 Airsofters The 1st 100 people to register will receive an event patch and another exclusive gift, plus be guaranteed to be on the army of their choice. New sponsors on-board FPS Magazine will be donating issues of their magazine and will probably publish an article on the event in a future issue. Spartan Imports- Palco Marketing- Aggressive Sports Joliet- Tactical Gear USA- and Aggressive Sports Shop will be donating AEGs, GBBs, Accessories, BBs and more! So far there are 3 AEGs to be given away…. Summit Lake Entertainment will be filming the event for an upcoming video/DVD release. Man, it sucks that I can't make it to this, I'd really like to play on that field.
For future reference though, anyone know if Amtrak would let you put a gun case on board a train? ;D

I checked out their site, and, there is a paintball event on the 14th. Can anyone confirm, the exclusivity of the dates/event to just airsoft, or should we be expecting to be sharing the field again with paintballers??  |

Just found out I'm not able to attained "Northern wind " so it looks as if I'll be heading over for this one with the rest of you crazy michigan airsofters .Hope to get as many of my team to go as possible but not likly there will be more then 5 Section 8 guys and or girls at this one .The event sounds like it will be a blast .See ya all there cocked , locked and ready to rock michigan style.

Guys, First off let me say "Hi". This is my first time on your boards and I am very proud to be here. Anyway, I am the Team Commander for the Columbian Rebels for this operation. I am also helping Aggressive Sports Joliet out in getting people to attend this OP. For those of you wondering about the field. It will be held at Relms of Ruins in Custer Park, IL. About 1.5 hours south of Chicago. There is a paintball private game going on the same day. But we have approx. 70%+ use of the entire park. I was told that it will be about 50 acres area. It sounds like most of you guys are going to play with Ci-for and that is cool. I always love target s to shoot at  Seriously though....You guys will have a blast if you attend this OP.
