If you see him again, see if he will give some sort of priority to michigan residents. It would be a shame if the majority of us weren't able to play especially since it's in our back yard. Priority is usually given to LC alumni - can't really blame a businessman for prioritizing his regular customers, but I'm sure it's worth asking about. As for VIPs - don't plan on spending a lot of time with them, you'll probably run into them a few times during the games but generally they'll have their own PSDs who have rolled with them before. At least, this was true whenever Irene 6 was, MSgt Mullen had a group of Ohio guys less than 10 feet away from him at all times.

I have to give him some information about Russian Airsoft (he was asking if it is big over there) so when I do I will ask about it, although as pointed about before, I am not sure if he would do it just for MIA players. But if you have some LC vets in your midst you should get a roster of who wants to go (LC vets and non-vets), forward to him on the OPLC forum and see what he would do - sort of hand him a pre-packaged group. Unfortunately I will be at Berget during this op, which is really bad, because my Aunt and Uncle live in Trenton!

The VIPs are always cool. Psychosis and I (mostly me in regards to Florida) got to bullshit for all of like 5 minutes with Todd Blackburn, and getting to chat with guys like Lt.Col. Longgrear and Col. McKnight was cool. Sgt. Miller was a scary sneaky mofo for how old he is, and I even got to throw rocks at Sgt. Eversmann.
Igor Dobroff is different. He doesn't really have a preferred crew like Mullen does. He just goes to the front of the line and goes hog wild. If you're hard charging, you'll probably be right next to him.

John Lu was interviewed by Doctor Airsoft and he mentioned about the Steel Mill. Must say John Lu is "da man" not only has he elevated airsoft into incredible MILSIM events in this country he gets to hang out with beautiful women like Ksenia.

Just a thought, could anyone wear a helmet cam or gun cam for those of us who can't make it....or aren't old enough.

I emailed Lions Claws to join their newsletter and got a somewhat personalized response.
"Greetings,
My name is Marcus Rodriguez and I would very much like to be added to the event mailing list and be informed of Lions Claws events.
I am not a veteran of a Lions Claws event, but am looking forward to OP: Northern Lights this summer in Trenton, MI. We have a huge community in Michigan and quite a few of us are extremely excited for the event. Thank you for your time.
Cheers,
Marcus."
To which I received this reply:
"Added. Thank you for dropping us a note Marcus. We're looking forward to coming out to Trenton this summer!
Respectfully,
John Lu Producer"
I don't care if it was short, but I thought it was cool to receive a personalized email back from John Lu.

I spoke with Mr. Lu over the phone today to discuss some of the logistics of this event - he still remembers me from my participation at NW5 and Irene 6 in 2008, which I personally find to be an honor. Though a lot of planning is still in the preliminary stages, he said that the AO is VERY large, and should comfortably fit 500 players - that said, register on time to get a slot in case they fill up rapidly!

I wasn't planning on doing any airsoft this year because I was supposed to be deployed to Afghanistan with the Army. But my deployment was cancelled so I'm definitely interested. Im all for a Michigan based team and have plenty to offer with my military background especially with radio communication and fire support. Ive also done plenty of MOUT training with the infantry platoon that I was attatched with as an FO. Kill bitches get money!

Hell yeah Gunny! I cant fucking wait to play again. Its been way too long. Ill have to play some MIA games before the big event to get used to airsoft again. Im throwing some cash at my rifle for upgrades and plan on buying a new loadout. Have we decided on what side/camo pattern were going with?
