But why are the engagement limits based on what type of weapon you have and not the power that it's shooting at? If I'm reading this right, then a SAW shooting 350fps with their .25g BB still has an engagement distance of 50ft rather than 10ft that AEGs have at that power level. This is pure speculation, but my guess is the engagement limit with SAWs is to help prevent overkill - do you really want to get lit up with sustained automatic fire at 10 feet? At least with AEGs the magazine capacity is limited.

I'm in. This game just sounds BA, especially in an abandoned steel mill.

Personally, I'm with conscript for this one- AFO Wolfpack is definitely going to be going Russian. I've heard nothing but great things about Dobroff, and wouldn't miss a chance to play alongside a kickass dude like that.

To those who have gone to past events, how much face time will we really get with these commanders?
I'm assuming that they will guide us more as a larger group and won't really be right next to us in the game the majority of the time? I'm thinking that they are there more for the larger picture planning?
I just don't want to pick a side solely based on what guy is cooler when I'll be with him a total of 5 minutes the whole game.

Sweet Miles! ARC, I still think it's a good idea that we wait for final information to come in to confirm who is leading which side. But maybe we can put up a poll to see which side the majority wants to go?

I'm up for this team MiA idea. Maybe someone should start a new thread, facebook group or some such to help coordinate with everyone who wants to be involved.

Dobroff is the kind of guy who likes to be in the front lines very often.

Alright, at the suggestion of M.S.-ARC and Gimpalong, I've started a board for those of us interested in attending this game. If you're over 18 and seriously plan on attending this game, please PM me to get the password. The goal isn't to make this MIA Team exclusive, but we might be sharing personal information regarding carpooling, contact info, group gear buys and the like, and we'd like to keep that information at least somewhat protected. So if you want in on this and you're of age, don't hesitate to PM me and we'll get you on the board. The more inclusive we make this, the better our showing. The better our showing, the more national respect we get. I know that at some points the Michigan community has become divided, so lets try to make this a unifying experience. The board: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=nlmiatIt's also just at the bottom of the home page.

I spoke with John Lu about this today at the Shot Show. He said that after one of his managers put feet on the ground at the steel mill, it is a large covered area with a lot of ruined brick buildings. Players will be capped at 300 (maybe 350) so registration will open and close in about 4 minutes, based on past OPLC events. He does not want too many players because it would saturate the AO.
Registration will not open soon, because he is running 13 events this year, and doesn't want to take money too far in advance.
Also, in case you did not know, for OP Irene, Zussman is still under construction, so this year it will be held at MTC again.

I've already started setting aside the cash to go. There is no way I'll be missing this one.

If you see him again, see if he will give some sort of priority to michigan residents. It would be a shame if the majority of us weren't able to play especially since it's in our back yard.

The second registration opens I'll be clicking that registration link no matter what hour it opens! Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for details to come out so we can finally decide and pick a team.
