Agreed. You can find a good cyma just about as often as you can find a bad G&G. Its rare but it does happen. Exactly. I've seen two bad G&Gs in my time, and 2 really good CYMAs. The thing is, the "you get what you pay for" rule doesn't even apply, since Combat Machines are dirt cheap. Always go G&G, and if you get a lemon, God probably hates you. God hates me

The way I see it, G&G CM> Any clone.
However, G&G CMs are strictly limited to the M4 style and AK47.
If you are totally hooked, no matter what, on buying something other than an M4 style or AK style starter gun, the maybe G&G is not the way to go.
Now, if G&G CM produced a G36... Life would be complete.

Life would be complete. You raise a good point, actually. However, nobody makes a good replica of "the other guns" at a nice price, save for a JG G36c. Those actually seem to get nothing but great feedback, and I've even used one and loved it. G&G does meet most needs though. I've had a few M4's, and a UMP by them, and loved them all. I hear their M14 is nice (though I'd still go with a TM) and they're coming up with slews upon slews of new guns. They're pretty much leading the industry right now.

I have that mp5 & I compared the build and the body side by side with a TM that I had and the G&G actually looked and felt more solid.

lulwut? This was news to me, I didn't even know these existed... Haha. I supposed I haven't really been looking at many guns lately though, just upgrading the one I already have.

Oh man! That thread is getting good. All of you who haven't read it need to catch up on it, this is great.. www.airsoftsociety.com/forums/f88/whis-better-30024 . They seem to have no idea what they are talking about, and I'm pretty sure I just questioned the intelligence of 3 of their biggest members and they're having a heart attack. That forum just doesn't know what an Airsoft gun is.

"IIRC, KC ran a CM on a lipo and it blew up. Did the same with a crosman lpeg, it ran fine."
That pretty much sums up the whole thread right there.

I'd like to know if he stripped something or if the battery literally blew up. Describing a gun as "blowing up" tells me that the person knows absolutely nothing about internals since he never identified what exactly went wrong with the gun. A worst case scenario, or what I guess comes close to "blowing up" in my book, would be blowing a bearing and having that strip out the piston and a gear or two. Seeing as how my G&G came with bushings as opposed to bearings, that isn't possible. What's likely is that his piston pre-engaged and he stripped it, or stripped a gear due to a jam or poor shim job. It's obvious that the people over there don't have much of a clue about internals, and it seems like a game of follow the leader where a few members with higher post count preach JG/Cyma and everybody else just follows along. As I've alluded to before, every forum has their go-to brand for recommendation, but it's usually something like KWA, G&G, VFC, or another brand that performs strongly out of the box the majority of the time. I do like JG in particular because they have decently strong parts and very strong motors, but they need a lot of fine tuning to be reliable out of the box. The motor and decently strong TM-spec parts are why I like JGs as a base for upgrading only. There's no way anybody should be recommending a JG to somebody who is new and doesn't want to be replacing parts and fixing their own gearbox. Go Knief, spread the good word! www.airsoftsociety.com/forums/search.php?searchid=521850
