Due to the logistical nightmare and complete mis-communication this event has caused, I have decided to lock this event/thread. This event will be shelved (canceled) until the spring of 2011, where we will attempt to try it again. Have no fear; we have a back-up event already up. Operation: RockcrusherDate: Saturday, September 11th, 2010 Location: Bangor, Michigan Age Requirement: 16+ Cost: $25.00 Per Person (Prepay or Walk-On) miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=events&thread=34310&page=1We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Don't worry, all you boys who got new loadouts or guns will still get to use em.

Are minors allowed? I have attended your other 18+ events and have had no problems.

We will be making exceptions to the age requirement. However, keep in mind that this is a tough event. We don't want a bunch of minors who are whining because they are hungry under fire...
But you're fine.

I'm 15 and I don't complain about a bunch of bs, my dad was in the Marines so I know he had it worse than I would. Am I able to attend? My father will most likely as well, it's not a definite yes yet.

At first I was wondering why it cost so much, then I realized it was literally a full day.. Sounds like an awesome idea. I bet we'll be out there for this!

Dingo,
I might as well clarify your point of concern for the cost of this event. Yes, it is considerably higher than Armory's average event cost; the reasons are as follows:
Ammunition - All players will be allowed to start the game with a full load-out's worth of ammunition. Anything beyond that, we will provide for the players. I should rephrase, the players must achieve certain objectives; such as securing a landing zone (LZ) in order to be resupplied. The cost for as many players as we are projecting for this would be very high...
Food - All meals are included in the admission price. That is: Two Lunches, One Dinner, One Breakfast. Again, for as many people are we are projecting, the cost is high.
Additional Props - We have a few cool ideas here. =)
I hope this answered and/or alleviated some concerns.
Minors MAY be allowed under very select circumstances. We will consider them on a case by case basis...
Echelon,
What side bro?

If I go, me and my father will be on Studies and Observation group. Wonderful time to unveil my Vietnam loadout.

Man, after last weekend, this oughta be a cake walk! Gotta gotta remeber those ponchos this time though. I'm putting together a new deck of custom medic cards, and I would like for you guys to laminate them for the game, but we should talk about the particulars, like if players will get to upgrade their decks or not.
--- Suggest folks might look into waterproof hammocks.

Armory Airsoft will issue era appropriate food to both teams at meal times.
Will we be eating MCI's? (MEAL COMBAT INDIVIDUAL)
Some interesting facts about Operation Tailwind:
1. The U.S used the Sarin nerve agent against the enemy combatanants 2. The village the SOG units attacked was believed to be harboring American troops believed to have defected to the enemy 3. The Sarin nerve agent was dropped on the village the night before the attack 4. All 16 of the American SOG members were wounded. 5. The SOG group consisted of 16 Americans and 140 hired montagnards

Obviously we will be using a bit of "artistic license" for this event.
I will be starting a roster for this event very shortly.
