Well, I had fun and want to thank SFOD and Mr. Moore for the day of fun.
Yes, I'll admit that the scenario was kind of... poorly planned. I was amused how there was two squads of us tans sitting (literally) around our respawn at the beginning of the game waiting around for things to start, and the sudden "ooh, balls, there's a bunch of greens heading right over here" scampering to assemble some sort of defensive screen. Granted, it was two squads, one of which being FAH, so we were okay, but it kicked things off to an interesting start.
And while I would have liked the scenario to... well... continue, things turning into more or less a req game was still fun. And for those of you who had the romp in the swamp with me flanking SFOD during their 300 stand, c'mon, you know it worked and it was worth it.
Hit calling seemed okay, though there were times where people were obviously hit, smoked for minutes afterwards, and then a ref finally yelled at them. Sure, kudos to taking that many rounds like a bunch of champs, but just call your hits. Also in the game that ended just after 5:00, blind firing and not calling hits got really bad on the green side in the city until we got a few refs around. We probably would have taken the city in at the very least a third less time if people had just taken their hits, but I admit that there were a few guys who were holding their positions quite well (I still forget building names, but the guy who was in the white shack thing with (I think) the M4 and the crazy ROF who got me out twice, (who was guarding the fence gap from the D-Day hill) and who I eventually found myself right next to (somebody else shot you, but I was about five feet away with my pistol having a camo brainfart). And to the guy who then bang killed me from behind, thanks again for not shooting me.)
And I can understand the woodland's frustrations. I don't know if there just happened to be a lot of new guys around, or there just was poor tactics used, or what. But, even not taking into account the very frustrated people who stopped calling hits much, you guys did put up a good fight.
*shrug*
I had a good time, and am looking forward to the next game.
But, all in all, I'm sure that SFOD'll get the kinks worked out for the next scenario, and I'm sure it'll be pretty awesome.

I was the guy with the shotgun that tried to call a bang kill on you, to which you said "There's no way you can hit me" and then turned around and shot me in the face with your pistol a few times. 1 of the bbs ended up in my mouth and the other in my goggles. Though I don't think it was a really big deal, since we cleared it up on the spot, and I don't think your pistol was shooting that hot. I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that was you. You were the guy with a ghillie and the Tanaka right? I had a ghille and tanaka and we were at about 20 - 30 ft and I had my pistol out, but I didn't shoot for the face. pop is making an accusation that I did and that it was on purpose. there were also green players in the bunkers up the hill from us, one of them may have been firing also. For the record, while no one forces you to wear a mask if you are 18+ If you choose not to wear full face protection, you are taking your safety in your own hands...thats why anyone under 18 has to wear a full mask since they can't legally waive their own safety, they also have to get parent permission... still I do concur that people should not aim for the face intentionally and my only issue with pop is that the little coward didn't say shit to my face and waited until he was online cowering behind a keyboard to attack me and make slurs. If that was him next to you, he could have "manned-up" and spoken if I accidentally shot you in the face, but instead he is making a great story up and slurring me online... If I did get you in the face directly or with a ricochet, I am sorry. I will also happily lend you a full face mask so you don't get hurt next time you play. I my self wear an under armor hood with a handkerchief folded up and stuffed in the front for padding around the mouth. This whole discussion has lost base and purpose, I left a negative review and everyone here went off because that's how they do it...they bitch at me online, then they kiss my ass in person (Gestapo is the one exception to that and has my respect for standing toe to toe with me when we disagreed). I am sorry to anyone that was personally offended by my my remarks, but I called it as I saw it. the event was a glorious waste of my time, both driving there and back for an hour each way, plus the delay at the start and the terrible lack of any planning by Mr. "hoooah, you're rangers" Gene ( Seriously though, I do appreciate his efforts to make the event fun for the kids). I think the field is a nice looking one, but the implementation of the field was where failure occurred. I am sure that tan had a good time, they should have since they stayed on the defensive which is easier in almost any scenario using structures. I am sure some kids from green had a good time, different folks like different things. Someone over heard me say that this sort of event was beneath me, now he wants to rage out about it, but he stayed quiet as a mouse at the time... grow up and speak up if you have an issue! I don't bite....much Next time someone on here has any issue with me, feel free to approach me in person at the time and talk in a civilized manner about it. If anyone can't handle that or is afraid to talk like a man, please feel free to waste your time typing angrily, but be careful what you say and who you accuse. I meant what I said when I said that I won't be back, so cursing at me, spamming me or telling me that I am not welcome is also a waste of time since I think their event sucked and never intend to go there again. The event had all the lack of depth of planning as a backyard game and personally I am suprised that the owner was any where near the field without eye protection, what the hell did he expect to happen? we were after all playing literally in his backyard! Along with that I was further suprised at how angry he got when he got hit by someone's stray shot seriosuly he was walking around during a shooting sport w/o eye protection and he saw where the refs started everyone, it isn't a mystery to me that a stay one hit him, I am just glad that he was not hurt and that when it happened I was sitting on the picnic table at the time laughing at ROR for using his meu to kill me over his m14(he is so proud of that gun). The sad thing is that the guys from SFOD that I have met seemed like decent, likeable and intelligent guys. I don't know where things broke down between them and their event but it broke down and the event was less than was expected. The fact is though that airsoft, paintball and any other extreme sport have the understanding that the buyer must beware and I should have known better than to expect a scenario event from a post that didn't even have a name by the day it launched. Finally, I have shared this with a few people now I will share it with the public : yesterdays event was the first time my brother went to a field event and I wanted to show him a good time and get him hooked on the sport too. Frankly, [glow=red,2,300]TFI[/glow],[glow=red,2,300]Hellfish[/glow] and [glow=red,2,300]ASSHATS[/glow] have hosted some kick ass events which set the standard in my mind, and I was looking forward to seeing that same level of thorough planning and attention to detail. I chose to attend because SFOD and their field have a solid rep from people in the sport that I regard as knowledgeable and so it seemed like a sure thing. Still, the old saying is true: [glow=red,2,300]buyer beware[/glow] We all know what brand of guns to use or avoid, we all have our taste in game style, I have my tastes and now I have a dislike. it was good effort by green, it was good to see familiar faces and it is a nice looking field. On that note, I am done defending my opinions and I have spent far too much time on this, I am now going to clean my tanaka and wait for upgrades to arrive. Koenig, if I got ya in the mouth, I don't know how but I apologize if it was me, and if you are old enough I have an ice cold beer with your name on it, if not, I got a bottle of mountaindew for ya take care and be safe guys. ~RK

Seriosuly, Redknight, just stop. Stop bashing our field. Stop claiming that our events are crap because you had one shitty one. This seemed to be your first time to our field, so I understand why you see things the way you do. But we've all read enough of your crap here. So please just drop it and move on. If you so choose to give us another chance some other time, since you "chose to attend because SFOD and their field have a solid rep from people in the sport that I regard as knowledgeable and so it seemed like a sure thing", maybe you'll see a much higher esteemed satisfaction that just about everyone gets from playing on our field.

Besides, there are far more important things for me to do than hold a grudge against an accidental face shot. And I have plenty of shemaghs and mouthguards, but thanks for the offer.

springs, were you the guy I bang killed while holed out in a building with my famas? Possible but not sure. I had just ran across the alley, and was fiddling with my pistol and looking at a guy right by me with my back to a building. He got hit before I finished deciding if I wanted to shoot him, try to bang kill him, or even get fancy and try to knife him (plus it took me a minute to figure out if he was friendly >_>), but I also then heard "bang," put my hands up, and turned around. If memory serves there was a pistol pointed at me, and there was the brief conversation consisting of; "Call it." "Yeah, hit." "Hey man, I didn't want to have to shoot you like that." "Yeah, thanks for that!" *I scamper off to the respawn. It was the building with the actual stairs to the second story, through the middle window on the D-day hill side.

Springs, was that triggs with us playing at being frogs in the swamp during SFOD 300? That was definately the highlight of my day. And my boots still haven't dried out... I have nothing else to say. Yes, it was worth it, and it definatly worked. For those of you that got the dreaded poison ivy-- sorry, it sucks. Somehow I managed to dodge it, but don't worry, I'm still clearing up some I got the weekend before the event. So I'm still suffering with you, just have a week's seniority on ya-- Cortizone-10 should be your new best friend for a while.
