The event was the most disorganized I have ever seen in more than 16 years of paintball, military and airsoft experience... The final straw was when my friend asked if he could have some water which he was told was available from a garden hose and the man who owns the place actually wanted him to pay a dollar for water from a garden hose......on top of the $20 admission fee. If you LISTENED, you would know that that was for abottle of water from the cooler in the Gazebo. Other peopel were using the hose ALL DAY. Mr. Moore, the OWNER if the land you played on got blasted in the face, just below the eye. Maybe you can show a little more respect. That asian guy has a name, Gene. It's a scenario based game for fun, do you really think it's serious..? Maybe you missed the part that we were ALL REFFING ALL DAY. Those guys in the blue hats, yeha that was ALL of SFOD wearing blue hats to signify ref. And it WAS Discussed in breifing, if you payed attention. NONE of use even came close to playing anything till around 5-6ish. There were a LOT of experienced player who have been to our field MANY times on tan. Did you ever think that maybe they simply knew how to play the field and have you outthunk?? Do I really need to even acknoledge the fact that you missed the seriousness of how bad this is in terms of safety. THE OWNER got hit almost in the eye. Yes, it is a seriosu matter and was dealt with acordingly. If you don't care about the safety of others, then this is not the game for you. [glow=red,2,300]Water:[/glow] Seriously, if you run a business you are expected to have certain amenities for your clients. I brought some water which I ended up sharing, but it was tacky to expect a guy to pay a dollar for water from a garden hose. If my buddy or (anyone else) had been more dehydrated and passed out there would have been a shit storm from it! They just squeezed 20 bucks out of each of us with the promise of a good game, water is the least they can provide.... For the record, the issue I had with the 20 minute break for changing spawns was not with the break itself, but for the fact that since the game was hopelessly unbalanced by allowing the defenders to respawn as they did and to dig in and start in the city, it made the unbalance even worse, it should have been addressed and fixed but was not. [glow=red,2,300]Bangkills:[/glow] The issue with the bang kill was that he tried to shoot first and had a gun malfuntion, but insisted on trying to call a bangkill. I responded by challenging him to fire. He could not( I knew this, it was obvious). If you run out of ammo or your gun jams you can not try to call kills with your rifle just because you have a weapon malfunction, thats what happens in some firefights, both real and simulated. If he really had intended to bang kill, he would not have tried to shoot first, face it man, he tried to be cool and his gun bit the bullet at a bad time causing you to both get shot.(it was pretty heroic how you rushed to save him though) If he had an L85, he should have had it in hand instead of his pistol, but hey, trying to be cool gets lots of folks owned. and I am no exception to that statement having been owned many many times for trying too hard. Next time for instance if he just walks up and goes for a knife kill he probably will get it, or just aims in with his main weapon and calls a "bang" without actually firing.... He did sneak up fairly well since he came at me from the parkinglot/field area I wasn't expecting it Since you didn't remember seeing me, it's all moot I guess, but I was in a ghillie suit with a black underarmor mask carrying the tanaka and the meu. I thought the situation was a bit pissy since it was clear as a bell that he just had bad luck and tried to cover it with calling a bang-kill. My understanding is that bang-kills can only be called if your weapon is functional, and of course loaded and are primarliy used in place of attempting to actually shoot a person mainly for purposes of mercy and or to avoid injury when safety is the issue. All of that goes out the window if you attempt to shoot someone since your intent was to fire (whether or not the gun cooperates is a different matter) Again, had he simply said bang I would have nodded and called myself out, but as it was he tried to fire I challenged his action because i heard his gun misfire (its happened to me too when I rushed a room or two) and knew he was unable to discharge a single shot, I then called a sniper kill with my tanaka which he refused so for safety I slung my tanaka (as one of you ran towards me) I drew my meu and killed you both. Don't worry though, your other team mate got me, ironically with his meu, from about 30 yds (damn good shot) right after I killed you two with mine. Gene coming along moments later singing "hooah" and calling us both out was totally moot to me at that point... what is that little guy's name that had the meu and the m14? I see him at spyops a lot and now I have seen him play, the kid's got some skills. [glow=red,2,300]Hooooah!: [/glow]Has Gene ever been in the army, navy or marines? where the hell does he get that hooah crap? He sounded like he either has tourrettes syndrome or maybe he is some new kind of pokemon and thats just the noise he makes... sort of like Pika-pika-pika-pika-chu! Bang Kill-He had the jump on you. He has no need to justfy that his gun would not fire. he called you out instead of what could have been lighting you up. Take the kill, go respawn and get over it. It's just a game. Water-Again, the hose was free. The pay was for a BOTTLE OF WATER for the cooler in the gazebo. 20 minute break-Again, MR Moore got hit in the FACE ALMOST IN THE EYE. How hard is that to understand?.. Hooah- It's a game, Just go along with it and have fun. And Hooah is from the Army, BTW. Redknight, you seem to be the only one to have soo many bones to pick with us. We have had MANY SUCCESSFULL op's and rec games, and many peopel cna vouch for that, even soem of those who may have not had the best day today. I have nothng more to say to you but this-If you don't like our games just ibecause you had ONE shitty run with us, just don't come back. It's that simple. Now, I'll say my peice about the day... Yes, it as very unorganized and the game could have been a bit more in depth to last longer for the origonal scenario we started with. And part of this was due to a team communication proble, and we're all somewhat at fault. Every event host ha there bad days. I do agree that this should have just been a simple rec game, but it's not my call. We had a team meeting tonight after everyone left. Things were discussed. Probeldm were picked apart, and we got on Grey Fox's case about not getting me scenario details in time. Green was severely outplayed. Mainly because the green side lacked heavily in experience, and that is not SFOD's fault(redknight). Today seemed more like a rec game than an OP but hey, we all learn from our mistakes. I'm tired as hell right now, so I'm going to bed, and I'll probably have more to say once more people respond on their thoughts for the day. Despite all of this Conners, it was my first time out there and you can expect me back.

I'm not gonna lie, I didn't talk to anyone who was unhappy with the game, and I was surprised how good it went with blind firing and calling hits.
The only problem I had was watching Redknight not only ignore a bang kill, but at 10 feet shooting koenig in the mouth. Ignoring the rules is one thing, aiming for the mouth could easily knock out a tooth, I know multiple people who had to get root canals from bbs to the mouth. I recently got a root canal, and with a cheap dentist it cost us $1500 for the procedure, and $1000 for the cap. It's not a fucking joke to go for the face.
I also heard about problems with bang kills and redknight from someone else talking. I don't know if that's the guy with a broken gun or another guy.

[glow=red,2,300]Stray shots:[/glow] As a point of fact since tan was in the tree line at the beginning since green was forced to wait in the field from the start and since green was on the outside of the tree line shooting in, it was probably tan shooting towards the house. Either way I wouldn't want my house shot up either. Umm...ok.... when did I say it was green (or tan, for that matter) that shot the house? I think it's pretty irrelevant who did it (especially at this point). Ok, I have to agree with you a bit here. Charging for water from a garden hose is pretty goddamned ridiculous, however if somebody was actually dehydrated I'm sure he would have let you have some water. Nobody would refuse some water to somebody who is clearly dehydrated and about to pass out. So it's not a huge deal, just an inconvenience. [glow=red,2,300]300 game[/glow]: the point of the 300 game is supposed to be a last stand holding out as long as possible without reinforcements, but that was messed up because tan had respawns so it just became a meat grinder for green to jump into. I'm not sure what you're talking about. Which 300 game? We did two 300 games, and neither time did the defending team have respawns, and both times the attacking team had unlimited respawns (as it's supposed to be). What's wrong with that? [glow=red,2,300]Bangkills:[/glow] The issue with the bang kill was that he tried to shoot first and had a gun malfuntion, but insisted on trying to call a bangkill. I responded by challenging him to fire. He could not( I knew this, it was obvious). However, the Hellfish (only theactionman and I were there today) were in no way involved, and I would appreciate it if you were to get your facts straight before you go insulting us. I have no problem with you bringing up this issue, but don't go blaming people unless you know for sure who it was.

Hey everybody,
I just wanted to break up the monotony of yelling at each other with this to say....
I freakin loved the game today, the entire thing, the day, and everything that went along with it.
My team, Immortal airsoft had never been to a event before today, and we were pleasantly suprised. There was a few incidences today, but overall it was rad. Everyone that hosted it was very nice, the owners were great, and the refs and SFOD crew were great. Gene made it all fun with his antics and comroderie.
Anywho, we are definitely going to be coming out for any future game that SFOD does, and we will see all of you at other events outside of SFOD also.
I also wanted to thank skypilot for the bb's, and all the guys that rocked the green side with me and my team today. It was excellent.
The true spirit of the game is to have fun.
Thanks again to SFOD and all that attended. It was memorable.

Redknight, stop trolling. That post is just FILLED to the brim with negativity and no-one wants to hear it. ROFLMAO *Sigh* Oh my oh my, where to begin.... First off, to everyone who is providing unconstructive criticism and making a mountain out of a mole hill about whatever shortcomings you may have found in the game today, shame on you. Anyone who has been playing airsoft for any reasonable amount of time knows that once most of the fat, lazy, and out of shape airsoft players become tired and fatigued, their once eager attitude to capture objectives and give 110% dissappears VERY quickly and things come to a screeching halt in terms of game play, and game speed. Personally I have gotten over that sort of thing since you have to take what you are given and I believe that my Tan team DOMINATED the first scenario through superior organization and tactics until it was called off for an errant player not checking their targets. (IE: Nearly taking Mr. Moore's eye out) Green team, you were not "outnumbered" or "out-fortified" you were simply out played. I have no clue if it was because of a lack of working guns, leadership, or just determination, but take your licks and come back next time and turn the tables on us. I had a ton of fun being CO along with Actionman, as well as being followed around by my Paul Bunyan-esque body guard.. As far as your water situation goes Redknight, why should anyone give a flying fuck about that? Your a big boy and are in charge of hydrating yourself and whatever teammates you have with you. A perfect hydration example I saw today was from Devil, his dad, and the guys that rode out with them. I must have saw at LEAST 2-3 cases of water that they brought with them. I believe that everyone that comes out to play is reasonably bright and knows that you need more water when it's 75 degrees outside in direct sunlight. But, judging by the large amounts of complaining about something so simple as water, I guess I was wrong. As for some of the random and petty complaints, I don't believe that you have the room to speak. Especially with some of the statements that a few of the SFOD members said came from your mouth. The one I heard that made me giggle the most pertained to how "Playing airsoft out here (SFOD) is beneath you and your friends who are "Hardcore" MilSim players and all have law enforcement experience". I have absolutely no clue where to begin on that one so I'll just leave it for someone else to interpret...ROFLMAO. As far as "Hooah" goes, saying that Gene is "silly" for asking everyone to repeat "Hooah" in an effort to confirm that the players are listening to the instructions he is giving truly shows your ignorance. It is simply a word, nothing more. Thanks to all of SFOD, Corey, Mr. Moore and anyone who I may have missed for letting the Michigan airsoft community come out and play on your property. As always, I enjoyed myself and I am FUMING that the rain started to come down right as everyone came back up topside to take a break before the night game that was planned...I have nothing else to say EDIT: Carl, I love you, and sexy pics as always..

Guys, before this turns into a shitstorm of negativity, relax, have a beer, kick back, do whatever.
Will I agree that this is not the smoothest I've seen SFOD? Sure. But everyone has off days. If you didn't have a good time and it was your first run there, I totally understand the sentiments.
However, this thread-crapping will stop now, as both sides have more than adequately saind their piece, and backed it up with pages of quotes. This needs to be a spot for people to talk about the day (and mind you, redknight, AND SFOD have had and made use of the chance to do just that).
So let all the people chime in, and let the rest of the shit go. We all know what happenned, we were all there. But there were also a lot of new people out there, and the chance to face 40+ people in a sweet city must have been mindblowing for anyone new to the sport.
If people have hard feelings, then don't go back. SFOD knows now what they need to do in the future, and some of this was a wake-up call. The proof will be in the pudding. If their attendence drops off, then they need to step it up.
As for me, I had fun.
And for people talking about the long ride, I drove over 2 hours to play with a damage disc in my back. Ask Greyfox how I looked out there.
So, I hear ya.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Can we just stop posting useless shit in this thread that is suppose to be a report on how we thought the games went today? (And yes Redknight, we understand your buddy had to pay for water from a garden hose...you've clearly and unnecessarily stated it three times. Once was enough for us to understand you disliked today, and it can be taken as constructive criticism... but no need to continue littering the thread. By the way: Pics from the game.... EPIC..... I love the one of gene sneaking up in the city with me poking out from the corner to follow, not realizing that there was a guy directly to our right behind the woodpile. Pic caught it all....Love it! Edit: sorry kustom for this comming up right after you're post... but rest assured your post was not seen as I had started typing this! Edit 2! missed the 're in you're.....I have nothing else to say Edit 3! I have nothing else to say I must have been tired last night if I edited your to you're when it was right in the first place....

That was really low popctrl. All your post did was bash police officers for no reason other than because you disagreed with Rednight. What were you trying to accomplish with that post anyway? I guess that was pretty low. I'm still kinda pissed about that, so it's on my mind. I'll apologize for the disrespect towards police. Anyway, great fucking game, I thought everyone had good attitudes.

Indeed the mods are taking care of this. Certain inflammatory posts have been deleted, so this actually resembles a discussion between grown, intelligent people.
If this flaming continues, people's posts are going to start disappearing wholesale.
