I would just like to say here and now that the faction leaders for all of these forces should take a good hard look at themselves and really sit down and think if they are the best qualified person to control 50 other airsofters. Do you really have what it takes, you have 50 other players fun riding directly on your hands. Are you qualified enough? Are you mature enough? Do you have any idea of how much work it will take you to be a faction leader? A lot of how well this event goes is dependent on you.
Intimidator, doesn't know who you are, doesn't know your exploits, doesn't know if you're a good person, doesn't know if you are competent enough to lead that many people. So make it easy on him and don't ruin his event. Be mature and just step down and maybe take a squad leaders position. I've seen the list and honestly, I don't know if any of the people are qualified enough to lead. (Sorry, if you have military experience or other forms of experience ,I just didn't recognize your name.)
Intimidator, is trying something new here and it could go really well, but if the Commanders aren't competent enough to take everything that comes with being a commander the event will fail miserably. So can you handle 50 guys looking to you to make split second decisions? Can you handle 10 guys on the wire at once all asking for different orders and make sure you can keep track of them and hand at the right orders. Can you handle not being able to fire a single shot the entire 3 days and doing nothing ,but talking ordering and frantically running around? I know it sounds cool and prestigious to be the leader of an entire faction, it sounds kickass, but if thats the whole reason you want to do it, then just step-down.
Because honestly, I know who the faction leaders are and so far I don't know how many MiA'ers would follow you into (airsoft) battle. I am not trying to be rude or say you're idiots or bad people. I think all of you are good folks and I'd have a beer with all of you ,but I don't know if you really know what you're coming up against.
Think it over and step-down if you don't think you can really handle it. Better now, then at the event realizing you dont wanna do it or worse yet continuously giving people bad orders.
Edit: To clarify, I am not qualified to lead a faction and am not saying that I am.

Yeah Troubin brings up an important item. It is crucial that this game runs as planned so we can have more scenarios at this level. I have personally never seen such a large scale scenario in either my airsoft OR paintball career. Heed Troubins warning please. I don't know about you but I would love to have more games like this.

Good call Troub! This thing is going to be epic in so many ways. It wouldn't be fair to Intimidator to have all this time wrapped into this MILSIM and then have a bunch of "like-to-leads" turn it into a gigantic cluster fuck. I know I can't lead into the fray, so thats why I'm keeping out of leadership positions.

That would be awsome, i would go if you can get the age restriction lowered though If you were on like the Russians would you have to have a AK or does it not matter? Also would you have to have certian camo for what team you are on??

I'd be very interested in leading a squad if I can make it all the way to 2010 without being deployed I have nothing else to say.

If I remember correctly, Intimidator's busy overseas in the sandbox. So he probably won't be on for a while.

One other thing I forgot to mention, if you'd like to see more about my team, you can check out www.averagejs.wetpaint.com or www.acu.wetpaint.com. we have two videos from our own personal small battles, one being from 2006, one a mix from 06-08. In the 2nd one I would be the player with both the long blonde hair and the ak47 paratrooper and drum mag, or after i got my hair cut the player with the face paint, thompson m1a1, and way too tight camo pants. ;D

weingartz, there's a little "Modify" button in the upper right corner of your post. In the future, we'd appreciate it if you used that instead of adding a second post directly after your first.
Also, as has been stated a couple times, the guy running this event is busy serving overseas, so it could possibly be a while before he can answer you about the age limit.

Well Gents, It would appear the thread is still alive and well; as well as stickied (Thanks Cant!). I will try to get to all of your questions in a timely manner. To answer the easy ones... The age limit as of right now still stands; but isn't set in stone yet. The SAS Camo situation... the scenario has dictated these choices, and they will remain what they are. In RW operations SF operatives have a choice (within reasonable limitations) of what they are going to wear. I'll answer more questions as soon as I can. Be advised the actual event website will be up and running soon to go along with the forum that has been created for the event. Sitting at almost 150 signups currently. Cheers, Intimidator EDIT #1: Website for event is now up. More options and info to be posted daily. located here : www.michigan6mm.com

Intimidator, there seems to be an issue in filling out the required fields of information on the new registration form. It might be an issue with me, because my current age is only 17. If you have a hard cap on age for the site, it might not let in people like me who will be 18 by the time the event rolls around.
The "fields" that are messed up are giving me an incorrect format error are: -birth date -squad position -leader -(another one?)

overkill, I am having the same problem. with both the age and the address fields. I am currently 20 so I think the issue lies elsewhere. I have tried several formats and cannot figure out an explanation.
