Police sell or destroy seized items if they are illegal for you to own, or in some cases if they were used illegally (this is common sense). If none of you were charged with a crime (an investigation could be pending), you should try to get your stuff back. Of course, this is all assumption.

Depends on the rules and regs of warren pd. If they keep the complaint/investigation pending, and the airsoft guns were seized as evidence, you probably wont get them back any time soon.

so let me get this strait... if they didnt use their guns to commit a crime or use them against the police the should only be investigated for tresspassing? Therefore the guns would only be used for evidence and they would EVENTUALLY get them back. Am i right here? BTW: im going to find out the real laws within the next week for u guys, write a letter, and get my dad's friend (a GREAT lawyer) to try and get this straitened out.

If the guns were seized as evidence, its at the discretion of the department wether or not you can get them back.

As the law goes, if you were under the legal age to own these weapons (18 in the State of Michigan) they has just cause to confiscate the guns. You guys are doing the right thing by writing letters of apology to the Warren PD. You may consider writing a letter to the land owner also. This may pave the way for better relationship with the landowner and the PD. Sorry about your guns guys! Hopefully you can get them back soon. See what the attorney's say. If all else fails, have your parents (if under 18) contact the PD to try and get your stuff back. They may fair better than you.

That sucks..... Hopefully the cops give them back in a week. It kinda seems like they're trying to ground you guys from your weapons.

We got to keep everything but the guns and whats attached to them except for the mags. And with Bigmack I think they also confiscated his pocket knife.
