Here's that scream mask, with the BLUE, because I like blue and I think it looks cooler. Tell me what you think, personally, I think it fits the team more, it's simple, and kicks butt.

I dig the totally different direction Wheelz. Nice going.
It'll certainly stand out and be recongnized no problem. As Jacko said, a patch isn't going to give away your position. But if it was a concern that design would still look fine as black and OD, or tan and brown.
You latest effort would get my vote.

Thanks, I think I'll show that too him, because we can have symbolism as much as we want on the crest, but the patch has to do something with the team, right?

The patch should be something that allows teammates and others to quickly identify your group members. It is nice if the patch has some tie in or symbolism with the team, but it doesn't have to tell the whole story.
The only reason to go with the sword patch would be if you definitely want to have an common element between the patch and the crest.

Or we screw their crest and do-up the phantom theme...

My skills are poor, but I kind of like the sword. I also like a bit of text, so I've included some.

About the sword, do you guys think it should have a hilt, so it looks more like this: ----/| O=||=======> ----\| .....^ Hilt
Sorry, I was too lazy to make a real picture...

The current sword is nice because it is so simple. Whatever you do, try not to include unnecessary complexity.

Meh, avoid complications... go with the scream mask. It's cool and original.

Finialize a sword design and then leave it up to your team. Have two choices, the mask patch or a sword patch. Vote on it and you'll have selected a patch.

The ONLY thing I would change about the scream patch, is make the blue a bit darker, like Navy blue, but not too much; it can't blend in with the black. Just my $.02.

My mom is a professinal costumer and after reading this thread I thought I would ask her what she thought about the designs and the first thing was the blue looks apsolutly stupid on any BDU's. Second was to go with something simmple like the 1st cav's patch.

That is the 1st Cav Patch for those that were wondering. I think patch colors are completely up to the team. If they want black and blue, go for it. Mite

Yes, but be aware that the above patch is only used on Class A's (dress uniforms). In the field, you'll be wearing a "subdued" version of same, where the yellow would be replaced by OD green.

Indeed, most of the army division patches consist of only two colors and are available in three varieties: dress uniform (bright colors) OD and Black Tan and Brown Cover your fancy outfit, your woodland BDU, and your desert BDU. I bought a used woodland blouse awhile back and got a nice OD and Black 4th infantry division patch sewn onto it. Mite
