CODENAME: Thunder III -Return of Chiro-The Midwest's Premier Airsoft event August 12-13th, .06 Just outside of Chicago -INtel-After narrowly escaping the noose of U.S. forces, Drug lord Hector Chiro went into hiding to lay low and resurrect his once mighty empire. Meanwhile the U.S. attempted to stabilize the region, but encountered stiff resistance and corruption on all levels. The American public tired of countless body bags returning home and forced the Pentagon to withdraw the majority of its forces. Along with DEA and CIA operatives, the U.S. left some garrison troops and Special Forces advisers to train the newly elected government’s armed forces. After some time passed and his dealings with international arms dealers and militant organizations began to bear fruit, Hector Chiro is ready to once again to return as Colombia's premier Drug Cartel leader. With a series of car bombings, well-planned surprise attacks and help from the locals, Chiro and his surviving lieutenants have managed to gain a foothold in Colombia and reclaim their former cocoa farms and factories for production. The remaining U.S. forces and Colombian armed forces were overwhelmed through firepower and attacks from within. Not wanting his term to go down in history under these circumstances the President of the United States has again sent in U.S. forces under a Coalition banner including British, Philippine, and Russian units to battle the scourge of the international drug trade. Mission parameters are to capture or eliminate Hector Chiro and his mercenaries, once and for all… The two-day event features:Multiple scenarios- special missions- two armored assault vehicles- props- pyrotechnics- smoke grenades- special weapons- night play- free camping- concessions- a dealers area filled with Airsoft products- prize give-aways and more! Enlist with US/Coalition forces to defeat the Chiro Cartel, or join the Colombian Drug lord in their pursuit of extravagance and greed at the Midwest’s premier Airsoft event, CODENAME: Thunder III. Enlistment Fees:Early Registration Special- Register before June 1st, .06 for $50 per player Pre-Registration Deadline up to August 1st, .06 for $60 per player After August 1st, .06- $75 per player *First 100 players to register will receive a limited edition surprise!* CT-III is your chance to be an action hero, as Summit Lake Entertainment will once again be filming this event for future video and DVD release! **For more info, rules and registration procedures go to: www.CodenameThunder.com or stay tuned to this website**

I have nothing else to say, So far away(timewise), but T.E.S.T. has had plans to be there since CNT: II. Count 4 in for us - U.S. Forces - EDIT* Operation: Enigma II will be the same day at my local field, so our team might go there instead.. Up for grabs.. Price, location of thunder, and people expected/scenario will all play a big role in our decision.

MAC attended last year, we did have fun, but there were some things we didn't like.
The bad-
1. Full face protection, balaclavas not legal. Most refs left us alone because we drove clear from Michigan and that's what we showed up with, but the "honest" rule was a paintball mask.
2. Referees running around in bright paintball jerseys.
-10 fashion show points
3. Field was ok, but not near as good as Thunder I.
The good-
1. Armored car was cool.
2. Hector is always a riot to be around.
3. Although it felt a lot like paintball, it was still fun.
4. Night game was interesting.
If you do go to this one, go with the mindset of playing paintball with airsoft guns.

I didn't think the second code name thunder was horrid, though it had it's faults.
- The full face mask thing really takes away from the look and just makes you feel like you are playing paint-soft.
- The field wasn't nearly as good from the first code name thunder (from what I heard, since I was not able to attend the first one).
- My Biggest complaint was the command of the U.S. side. It just seemed like we where doing pointless missions that lead to nothing. After we fight for a piece of land we just sit there for a hour waiting for something else to do.
- I kinda fault like the Chiro side was being more heavily favored in the event due to the people allocated to it, and there missions, basically making the U.S. = cannon fodder.
- Aggressive sports though did seem to be nice people, you really can't attack them.
I myself won't be going to due the price and drive. Once was enough.

I agree with some of your statements guys, they're good to hear. Thats how we can make each event better!
The leadership on the US side was very lacking as they only had a handful of quality teams/squads to work with, while the Colombians were preparing all year and operated as such.
That field is pretty cool, but it is designed for paintball, with lots of shooting and open areas. There were a lot of thick forested and hilly areas also, but they were a little out of the way except on a few missions due to the layout of the field.
Part of the reason I did CT2 in Indiana was to draw more guys from MIchigan. The ones I met at CT1 were great guys as were the ones at CT2. Michigan One, and other Michigan Airsofters will be prominent in the upcoming CT2 webisodes as well.
CT3 is shaping up to be a pretty intense event with some surprises to be announced very soon...stay tuned...

I'll be heading to Op: Enigma instead.
I don't get along with CAA at all, and that was our general..(U.S.) he shot his own guys.... Didn't listen to me, and let 3 guys with saw's over run our base....
Real ass hat from what I saw.
I had fun, butI agree, one was enough for me. Had intentions on going, but now there's an event at ROR, where the first thunder was.

SWAT A4: If you don't get along with the CAA, they are the ones attending/hosting the game you speak of. The US side is getting all kinds of help this time around with players coming from Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Illinois and others to take on the 2-0 Cartel.
BTW CT3 is being held at a new location that will make everyone smile....stay tuned

Press Release: “CODENAME: THUNDER III” TWO-DAY AIRSOFT EVENT TO BE HELD AT CPX SPORTSApril 17th, 2006 – Chicago, Illinois- Summit Lake Entertainment, the premiere Airsoft event promoter and filmmaker in the Midwest, is proud to announce its “CODENAME: Thunder III” Airsoft event, scheduled for August 12-13th, 2006, “CODENAME: Thunder III” will be held at the CPX Sports Theme Park in Joliet, Illinois. This two-day event marks the first 2-day Airsoft event to be held at CPX Sports, and will no doubt capture national attention as Summit Lake Entertainment and CPX Sports join forces to create a phenomenal Airsoft experience. “CODENAME: Thunder III” is an intense Airsoft event which will play-out over a two day period. The upcoming game will continue the original storyline of past “CODENAME: Thunder” events, which tells the tale of a U.S. incursion into Colombia to capture the infamous drug lord Hector Chiro, immortalized on video and DVD by Summit Lake Entertainment. Hundreds of players will be divided into two armies and pitted against each other in a series of missions over the two-day event. Players will decide the outcome of the plot as they battle on the various CPX Sports fields, including Armageddon- a bombed-out city, Jungle of Doom a Mayan temple, and Bedlam an eerie, abandoned small town. As before, the event will be filmed by Summit Lake Entertainment for future movie and DVD releases. Look at it as a “Reali-Drama” that centers on an Airsoft event unlike any other in the world. “The Thunder series of events have become wildly popular, thanks to the success of our videos worldwide,” explains Justin Brown, president of Summit Lake Entertainment. “We wanted to hold T3 at a location that would add to the ambiance and excitement of both the event and the next video. As a world-class facility, CPX Sports definitely fits that bill, and we know players will find it a fun and challenging area to battle in.” Ray Dagnino, field owner of CPX Sports, commented, “Airsoft is a new, adventurous, high-energy game, and that is exactly what CPX Sports is all about. We are excited to work with Justin Brown and Summit Lake again, to bring a large-scale, quality Airsoft event to our park. Our themed fields will enhance the experience for the players, and hopefully they’ll return to play Airsoft here again in the future. Maybe at our Windy City Classic in October” All specific event and registration information about “CODENAME: Thunder III” can also be found online at www.CodenameThunder.com.
