What: As you may have guessed, Operation: Falling Star is an airsoft Tactical/Law Enforcement Simulation set in the not too distant future. Players will adopt the roles of either international terrorists attempting to infiltrate their way onto American soil, or US Customs and Homeland Security personnel attempting to stop them. The game will take place in an indoor facility that once housed a Chrysler manufacturing plant. Boasting over 100,000 square feet (25,000 of it composed of interconnected office space), the site offers great possibilities for exciting, intense, and ruthless close quarters battle (CQB) airsoft play. Pictures of the facility. Be warned: the pictures don't do it justice, the place is HUGE!
Who: This event is brought to you courtesy of Geist Kompanie, with special thanks to Ryan Sytsma of ACO Detachment Delta, without whose business connections and hard work we'd be running this event in an open field in the dead of winter.
Why: The better question is "why not?"
How Much: Admission to Operation: Falling Star will be $50.00 US per person. If you are a member of the ACO Winter CQB League, (Details), admission is FREE. Yes, you read that right.

Who can attend?: Any mature, responsible airsoft player over the age of 18 is welcome to attend. Though we understand that there a lot of mature, responsible younger players out there, we are limited to 18 and over due to insurance constraints. Sorry guys, we've got no weasel room on this one, and we WILL be checking ID's.
What should I bring?: Players planning on playing on the US Customs/Homeland Security team are strongly encouraged to wear black or Navy blue BDU's, flight suits, or other uniform. It is also strongly recommended that Customs/Homeland Security forces bring a sidearm. Players representing the terrorists have it easy: the only uniform code for you is some sort of head/face covering (a shemagh, head wrap, burkha, or balaclava). If you don't have anything that fits the bill,an old black t-shirt can suffice to make a handy mask in a pinch. But the basic rule is that your face must be covered at all times.
Additional rules and event updates can be found here.

Every year, millions of tons of cargo come and go through US ports. Thousands of containers loaded with countless types of import goods move through any one of a hundred American port facilities every day. Only a tiny fraction of them are ever inspected. The United States Customs Service, with the help of the Department of Homeland Security, is charged with the daunting task of protecting the nation's most critical commercial link with the outside world. They are woefully understaffed, underfunded, and underprepared.
Recognizing the danger, Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge has stepped up efforts to protect America from the threat of international terrorism. Fought by a Congress unwilling to fund the necessary measures, ignored by an Administration distracted with foreign military ventures, and reviled by a public too apathetic to understand the threat, Secretary Ridge has come to the realization that it's only a matter of time before the unthinkable happens again. His organization is simply stretched too thinly to be able to police all of the nation's ports effectively.
Recognizing the opportunity, Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden plans to use this gap in American armor to his advantage. With the kind of careful planning, preparation, and patience that has become synonymous with Al Qaeda's terrorist operations, he plans to begin infiltrating terrorist agents and materials into the United States, enabling them once again to strike America on its own hated infidel soil. The plans have been laid, the intelligence is flawless, the scheduling is perfect. The time to strike is now. TEXT
