I like it, but something about the hood is making it weird. Drop the hood and get like a watch cap and it would be on point.

Couple of snaps of my Rural kit Sealskinz beanie Blackhawk RRV Crye MC Salomons Camelback gloves Due to last minute issues I had to use a deployment bag as a bergan and as you can see it wasn't ideal however I adapted and overcame! We're absolutely hanging after a really hard slog that saw us up and down a mahoosive hill more times than I care to mention! (Me in the middle) And for the geardo's we have an LBT 1961AR in M81 on the left, and an LBT 1961A in Aor2 on the right.

Semapo Gear sand combat set with Semapo Gear NJPC. The airframe is a TMC with Crye cover.

I'm really digging that sand combat set. I am also failing to see how the JPC can provide nearly enough ballistic coverage in a real world situation.

If you're as high speed as true BA's are then you don't get shot. Zero need for ballistics! On a more serious note, that was always my thought as well.

CJA, I am also really digging the sand combat set. It's refreshing to see something a little "out-of-the-box."
Krutch, I've always seen carriers like the JPC as a compromise between protection and mobility. But, with that being said, if you decide to throw side plates on the JPC it's really just as protective as a larger rig such as the 6094, AVS, Etc.

I was going to go for a sand set but I just can't seem to get on board with the stretch material. I've got a CB pair of pants without it and I absolutely love them!

The JPC accepts standard SAPI plates like pretty much any other carrier and has optional side plate pockets. It just doesn't offer any way of integrating full coverage soft armor such as balcs but neither do most modern carriers. As with any other carrier it is up to the user to size it correctly for proper ballistic protection.
