Seen other forums do it, figured it'd be cool to see the gear other guys run, not just limited to second line, third line, etc. Might be helpful to some of us to see especially what you experienced guys run. Anyone care to start?

I run two main kits, one AOR1 based, and one Multicam based. I've posted the AOR1 kit in the impressions thread before, but I'll explain the kit a bit. Links to hires below each photo. Obviously this is what works for me, someone else who ran the same kit may hate it. This kit is purely for outdoor games, it is not something I'd ever use for smaller indoor game.

Basics of the kit, the vest is a medium Specialty Defense Systems RBAV. Clothing is a set of Crye Precision combat shirt and pants. I'm also running a TC2001. The rifle is a VFC MK17. I'm also running an Eagle Industries Beavertail Assault Pack. I don't like dump pouches anymore, so when I'm done with mags they go into thigh pockets. They're get put into the M60 pouch when I get some downtime. Some people think wearing helmets is dumb, but I'm pretty clumsy. They've said me from some serious headaches on more than a few occasions. They also don't bother me at all.

On the rifle, I've got a replica Nightforce NXS 1.25-4x I believe. I'll be getting a Wilcox mount for a Doctor sight that I've used on a Spectre DR. I really like the option to run 4x mag, and quickly use a reddot. Light is a Surefire M600 with KM2 'Vampire' head. By rotating the head it switches from IR to white light, very useful when running NODs. I don't like pressure switches too much, so I use my thumb to activate the light. The PEQ15 is modded with an IR laser, usually run with a pressure switch. I find the repro PEQ15s with IR lasers too bright when using NODs, and will be switching to a G&P DBAL.

On to the vest, at the core I carry 5 mags on my front. I tend to not shoot a whole lot, so I've only very rarely run into issues with ammo. The shingle is made by Tyr Tactical, and the other two mags reside in an Eagle DMR pouch to the side.

I'm a bit short at 5'9, so I've moved the admin to the top of the shingle so my face doesn't get in the way of using the admin. I've had no issues running it here, even though it hangs off the shingle a bit. Light pouch on this usually holds a multitool. The canteen pouch is generally used for BBs, speedloader, batteries or other random things. Under my left arm is an Eagle M60 pouch that gets used for less important storage and empty mags. Knife was mounted for impressions sake, and I do not run it in game.

I run dual comms a fair bit of the time, front left is a Toy Soldier MBITR, and front right is an Icom F4S. Headset is a pair of Peltor COMTAC IIIs.

I run IR chems on two loops of paracord for night games. While they don't get too much use, I have used one or two in games last year. They don't get in the way for me personally.

The BTAP is primarily used for hydro. I'll also throw 1-2 extra mags in it, extra clothing layer, headset when not in use, and whatever else I need to carry without needing it immediately. When the straps are properly adjusted it doesn't bother me at all.

Back with the pack removed is pretty slick. Whip antenna for the MBITR is relocated back here to keep it out of the way. I've run whip antennas on the front previously and don't mind it too much, but this is just easier. The two strip charge pouches are there for looks more than anything else. I have run a 1.5L hydro in the built in hydro pouch, and didn't like how much it caused my rear panel to sag. This lead to switching over to the BTAP.

I run a pair of ESS goggles that I've modified to attach via velcro to the sides of the helmet. I was using a pair of Oakley Split Jackets with Gasket Kit, but they went missing. I plan to buy another pair.

Two photos from when I used this kit last weekend. In the first one you can see the velcro used for the goggles, in the second photo the I removed the velcro when I was done at the end of the day.

Here's my kit. These pics are a few weeks old. I've since added a Crye Modular Riggers belt, and got rid of the Emdom dumper, Airframe, and UA hood. I've also changed around the setup on the Strandhogg to mesh more smoothly with the MRB as some of you have seen on the Post Your Rigs thread. I'll be taking updated pics as soon as my Maritime, and L4G24 come in.

Hey Knief, is that Crtres' old AVS in PC configuration?

My AVS Kit for both CQB and outdoors. Running the MOLLE front panel with 3x Crye SR25 pouches rather than the M4 panel. Pouches fit 2x MK17 mags, or 2x MP7 mags. I only run 1 MP7 mag per pouch however. They'll also fit M4 mags, but I don't run an AR platform anymore. The Eagle M60 pouches with elastic on the top are the shit, I wish they were easier to find in more patterns.

Yup, the first photo was taken in the staging area, the second was somewhere on the actual field. MP7s are pretty much my favorite CQB gun, used an AEP one in Farmington years ago and now use a KWA.

Abbot, an AVS minus the harness is pretty much just a JPC. I believe you'll end up paying more for an AVS, while getting a bit more modularity and the ability to run different cuts of soft armor. You'll miss out on the built in kangroo of the JPC as well. I don't have direct experience with a non harness AVS or JPC but I'd consider the JPC unless you plan to upgrade to a harness. Using the harness is very close to a lower profile CPC, minus a bit of padding.
