Yes, and even if you did do all these things, I think some airsofters will avoid the field entirely due to the vibe of resentment that the owner is putting out towards airsoft as a sport.
It would be great to see a more positive attitude, which would in turn improve morale and increase turn out, but I know some people are just a certain way and nothing can be done about it. In this case, so long as he sees the numbers he wants to see, I don't think he'd care who ran the field or how it's ran, so maybe that's the way to go.

I'm not going to redundantly repeat everything that everyone else said in terms of rules and whatnot, but basically the point is this: do what No Limits is doing! I can tell you first hand I have personally worked my ass off to make airsoft painless for No Limits. I go out of my way to make sure that we are worth it for them to have out on the field. I set up the games, run them, and stay after and help clean up. I actually go up to their retail store a few times a week to just chat with them and see what is going on with the current season. When it comes down to it, there are very few out venues for us, and I do everything within my power to make sure we are welcome and wanted back. There was a short time when the Hellfish had stopped hosting events there and before we had started, that we didn't have any games. The owners actually had contacted ARC about having another event, and that's when we took over hosting. They realized it was profitable for them to host airsoft events, and became more more accommodating to us. On average we bring in 100 players to each event. The owners don't have to do anything other than be there. My team and I do everything else.

I have been playing airsoft at Futureball since I started playing serious airsoft three-four years ago. To be honest, none of the rules have bothered me besides the field-only ammo rule (which, by the way, has been reduced to bio-ammo only). I understand Chris's view on the FPS limits, but I endorse the MiA standards because I think that it would be far more beneficial for Futureball to conform. My biggest breaking point now is the fact that FB places paintball so far above airsoft that it practically changes the game for us sometimes. I can deal with the paint everywhere (it is annoying). I can deal with the low player turnout compared to PB. But I hate how paintball gets a $5 discount, and how they get to play for multiple sessions all day and we only have one 11-3 session. And we really never start until 11:30 because the refs let people come in late and take a ton of other people's time to get ready. I will continue to play at Futureball a lot, but this year I am going to have my team and I start branching out to other places. There are some great things coming at FB, but unless this all gets resolved and FB starts caring about airsoft more, my team and I will gradually curb off our FB attendance.
That's just my little addition. I do love Futureball, but my eyes are starting to open as a result of MiA, and I see that some things could be changed to benefit everyone.

Ive only played at FB once and it was for paintball.
I was a magfed paintball player that had a loadout to accomodate my loadout (a plate carrier, mag pouches, and a combat uniform). We did not start on time that day and as I was walking around the field getting ready I kept on hearing people say (he must play airsoft too because they have "those little airsoft dudes" here sometimes too).
From that day forward I stopped casually playing paintball and have gotten into airsofting in the last 8 months hardcore. [Im more of a gearwhore than actually playing but I mainly play at Tango Down in Detroit]

[Im more of a gearwhore than actually playing but I mainly play at Tango Down in Detroit] Holy Mackerel, Batman! A magfed paintballer! That's where I came from. A friend introduced to paintball in high school, played speedball once with a Walmart gun(a JT or something), and hated it. Hated the hopper, hated the air tank, all of it. Then one day I go to the local paintball store and see a flyer for the Tiberius Arms T9 Elite. Dreamt about it for months, then stopped. Fast forward to like, 2011(I think) and I FINALLY get the T9 Ranger with the plan of playing only mag fed paintball. I drove 4 hours to a weekend magfed MILSIM, it was awesome... That's it, haven't seen any magfed MILSIM games locally since. Fast forward to like, July 2013, I accidentally ended up on one of Jet DesertFox's videos on YouTube, and then thought "I have all the gear, why not just put it to use and play airsoft?", so went that route and now here I am. I still have the T9 and if a magfed game presented itself, I might attend, but for the most part, so many airsoft games! That and I don't want paint on my mostly new airsoft gear.

This is effing amazing! played speedball with a tricked out Tippmann a5 right before all the Tacamo magfed parts came out I have nothing else to say. I then did some research and got my hands on a Milsig MK3 with a mats stock which was fucking awesome, but the air was not efficient. The only paintball gun I have is a brand new Tippmann Crossover that I dont even that I owned I have nothing else to say but my friends still havent transitiioned to airsoft yet as paintball paintball paintball is still embedded into their heads. So fast forward to early 2013 and I ended on clicking on youtube and went to ASGI and Jets videos and after spending a shit ton of money and got lucky with a local sale on a KWA LM4. My first airsoft gun and it was a GBBR, what an experience! Now in 2014 I just got my first AEG but its more of a hybrid and loving my P* and I love the MIAirsoft boards.

That got off-topic fast. As a random note: I'm heading out to Futureball tomorrow in case anyone happens to want to come.

Oh yeah, I'm broke, nevermind that game then. Futureball has open sessions every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00-15:00. You do not need to have field-only ammunition. That rule was recalled, and I think Chris may have even stated so earlier in this thread. You do need to have biodegradable BBs. They don't really enforce that rule at all, but it is still the rule. If you don't have any, Frankie (FearRoback1) told me that they should have plenty of ammunition to buy tomorrow. If the prices are the same as they were last year, that's $15 for 5,000 rounds, regardless of the weight of the BB. Admission is (overpriced, in my opinion) $20 per person with your own gear.

I didn't so much mind paying the $20 admission price(however I know what you mean when you say it's overpriced), but being that I currently don't have Bios, It would make no sense for me to pay $35 to play a 4 hour rec game. I do not mean to sound entitled, I love the field, I love the people there, but I paid $40 for Western Gambit, and that was a full day milsim, using the entire field, with a custom bracelet and lunch included.
If I had Bios or extra cash to buy Bios, I would've probably gone, but I'm broke right now(job searching) and I just can't afford it.
Out of curiosity though, what brand bios do they have? Whenever I do get some cash, I'd be looking to play some rec games, but I'm kind of picky about brands. My gun isn't upgraded or anything, but I run exclusively .25g, mostly G&G but I have used Lancer Tacticals also.

As far as I know, the 0.25 BBs that they sell are normally made by G&G. However, they have sold King Arms, Elite Force, G&G, and Bioval BBs in the past.

I wasn't going to bring up the windshield thing because it's not a recurring event. But yeah, Gunslinger mounted the hood of a prop car with a 550 FPS cylinder in his PTW and unloaded a full mag of .30s into the windshield and all it did was clean off the dried on paint. There was absolutely no way we broke the windshield and James increasing our price for every future game in order to pay for it was absolute shit. Yeah I have nothing else to say I'm sorry it took so long to respond but we have been dealing with a lot. And yes I for sure agree that there is no way your gun was breaking windshields. Wednesday I threw a hammer at one of the car windshield and it didn't even crack so don't worry about that. And as far as rules and everything else this is as far as I've gotten: barrel bags required ( because of the large number of players that can't seem to keep their fingers off the trigger....) full face protection (mesh or plastic lowers are totally cool but no neoprene or bandanas) just have something protect those pearly whites 10 foot engagement rule ( be nice just pop me once if you get that close and make it somewhere it won't hurt like in the gear( people aren't required to go out on a "bang" kill but if they do it counts)) no blind firing (you never know how close the guy around the corner is when you aren't looking) no climbing in, under, or over bunkers ( the fields have been there a long time you don't want to happen upon a raccoon or a handful of broken glass in a car) "dead" players will have their hand raised because of the lack of dead rags (use a dead rag at your own risk, you may still get bonus balled for the limits this is how it's gonna go, take it or leave it guys I've been taking votes: 420 for full auto, anything higher is up to the refs discretion 460 for semi/ bolt as far as bbs go im stuck on field bbs only because we don't pull enough money in, if you can suggest another way to make some extra money so we can beat paintball in importance I'd be glad to hear it but until then alas there isn't much I can do. However we do carry elite force .2 and .25 bio bbs. We will not ever allow non bbs in anything other than a bolt action rifle because of the tributaries. also the 26th is player appreciation day which is free play for all players rentals still cost $10, but there will be giveaways and raffled off guns. I'm sure the field bbs rule won't go away by then but it's free play, come out and show support for airsoft! also I know this is probably a horrible idea but here is my number, you need an airsoft reservation or event call me, I'm easier to deal with than my boss 734-476-7629. as always happy airsofting!!!! chris

Chris,
I got a couple new players to play airsoft and they are attending the freeplay at the end of the month. I hope they have a good time at Futureball.
