I haven't been out much this winter, but I will say this: go outside with just your planned clothing and test it. Walk, crawl, sprint, do barrel rolls, spread out on your back and take a nap, whatever you can think of to test how effective it is against the snow and cold. I know after doing so for a short bit today that so far my setup has prevented snow from getting past the first layer for the most part, my goggles fog constantly if I attempt to cover up my nose, and that naturally I am way out of shape.
Which makes me glad that I am going to spend most of the time in the village.
I did notice the ice layer at different points of height as I ran about, but it did not cause any tripping. If it is indeed warmer than what it is locally, then I am concerned about making sure to brush off during down time any excess snow on certain bits of clothing before it melts into a flood.

I plan on attending with a +1. Put us on ISAF in whatever squad needs more players.

My plus one bailed on me due to his changing work schedule. To everyone on my squad, I'll have a propane backpacking stove to boil water for hot chocolate, tea, freeze dried meals, oatmeal etc. If I can find a French press or percolator, we may even have coffee.

Having been playing all winter. Three layers is about the right amount. Two pairs of socks and no one should have problems.

Well I've gotta say I'm beyond excited for this game. This will be a hell of a start to the milsim season!

Is there a printable waiver on the Hells Survivors site? I see that they have a waiver that you can fill out online but it doesn't have March 8 listed as a date to choose.

In regard to the waiver, it looks like Hell Survivors didn't include our event on their online bit. Something worth emailing them about, but I haven't got the time at the moment so it'll have to wait until later today. I'd encourage players to either fill out the waiver for the 15th, or fill one out there in person. Thanks, Mosin

So no MREs for lunch? If that's the case, I might buy a few MREs and give them to my squad.

If I wear an OD windbreaker, is that okay for OPFOR?

I hate to do this, but I have to drop out. Some things happened and I just will not be able to attend.

Sent from my Torque using proboards I've added a few lighters(regular and torch), a flint & steel striker rod, a commando wire saw, a serrated saw on my swiss army knife, and hand sanitizer as fuel, into my loadout, so if we want to make some type of camp fire(if it's allowed), all I need is some tinder and to cut down a few small branches. I don't really expect that to happen, but I over-prepared. Did I say over-prepared? I also have a P-38 can opener, a small flashlight, a whistle, a pocket watch, black tape, 3 different micro multi-tools, 2 microfiber cloths( ), A small medkit(band-aids, gauze, medical tape, amongst other things), a real knife(for use with flint and steel rod and other cutting purposes)... That's all that comes to mind right now.

You guys know this is like... Right down the street from civilization... Right? I feel it helps with the immersion... Nah I don't know, my wife's dropping me off in the morning and will only be back at the end of game, and I live 2 hours 35 minutes away, so I'M ON MY OWN.
