Never fear gents! There should be plenty of hardpack under the soft stuff. I've got some hard pack or ya!

I seriously doubt it will be at waist level out there. Although I haven't been out to that field with a ruler, I know we had a good wave of heat prior to these latest drifts, not to mention the amount of tree coverage overhead, I'd expect snow to be around calf level for most of the field, and that'll smoosh down pretty well in the more walked about areas once the day goes on.
In any case, dress warm, but in layers. Last game I played in blue jeans and just my North Face, and was fine for pretty much the whole day though, as running around and everything keeps you pretty warm as is.

Yeah it's supposed to be 40 and sunny on Friday, and paired with the fairly sparse tree coverage that doesn't cover the larger areas of the field I think we'll be ok. Looking forward to Saturday either way!!!!

If it's anything like the state recreation areas then it's going to be rough. The heat wave created a layer of ice over top of the snow that refroze. It's almost hard enough to walk on, but you still fall through about 6". I take my dog out there occasionally. I was out there about a week ago. I guess will see how things shape up from now until then.

I'm imagining certain areas will end up being hot-spots on the field, and those areas will probably be well trampled and passable by the end of the day.
Time to break out the waterproof boots...

I want to understand this right. Are we allowed to have solid colored fleeces or coats over our camo as long as they're green or tan depending on which side you've picked? Or should we prepare to have all of that underneath our combat shirt or bdu jacket?

If anyone is worried about winter weather gear, I highly recommend checking out your local surplus store for some surplus Goretex gear. I picked up an M81 pattern parka and pants for Wounded Wing for like $40 bucks total and they were fantastic. I had some longjohns and sweatpants under the goretex pants and a t-shirt and fleece under the parka and I stayed very warm and snow/wet free all day.

That's how it was at cru on Saturday, which made running a challenge because the snow was deep and mushy underneath, so when you go to bring your foot up it would get caught on the upper layer of ice causing you to trip. Only thing I can think of doing when that happens is "Save the gun!!!". That's my reaction every time I fall playing airsoft, especially in the snow.

Think I brought this up before but for the IVs, will there be something in place of water so it will not freeze like at Wounded Wing?

There will be a strong dilution of salt within the water mix, the only reason it froze last time was because it was somewhere in the low teens as far as temperature, and even then it didn't completely freeze over. If the weather holds true to be 40 degrees for this game I think we'll be more than alright with our current ratio.
In regard to the waiver, it looks like Hell Survivors didn't include our event on their online bit. Something worth emailing them about, but I haven't got the time at the moment so it'll have to wait until later today. I'd encourage players to either fill out the waiver for the 15th, or fill one out there in person.
Thanks,
Mosin

Squad 1 for OpFor (MIA Team, crapshoot, AKS) please shoot me an email (ninjapenguin091 at gmail) with what you plan on running. Also, I'll need one of you to step up and be our medic.
