Old soviet Ushanka looks out of place in the modern RusFed loadout.

That EOtech looks so out of place IMO. Other than that nice kit.

My hair is 3 times as long, but I hide it under the balaclava. Bubba said he'll do the same thing soon.

The hair flowing out of the fast bump has to go ha ha. Yeah, I'm covering it under a ballaclava after I get a few other things. It's an emerson fast ballistic by the way.

Yeah pretty much. They both act as the same thing.

One has holes, the other doesn't. And they don't really act the same in the RS world.

One has holes, the other doesn't. And they don't really act the same in the RS world. The basejump has a built in shroud and holes.. The ballistic has no holes and a vas shroud. All the emerson helmets serve the same purpose of protecting your head from bumps and bbs. The real ops core ballistics are well ballistic helmets and the base jumps are just fancy bump helmets.

Proper Ushankas look alright if you were just doing a winter peacetime look or can manage to fit one under a helmet. Obviously modern impressions usually go for a watch cap or similar according to interpretation. What's the stamp on the inside look like (animal-wise and of course the diamond to confirm validity, as that looks quite differently from mine, which was made in 1989 if I recall correctly). Shame how difficult it can be to get winter uniforms to go over the summer sets. For my impressions I usually bear it with the undergarments that either work extremely well or have you suffer all day properly.
As for the eotech, I will not go into that, for I recognize that people like them on their rifles, and at least for certain modern portrayals (FSB, MVD, etc.) it is ideal for such customizations.
I must point out though the following, because it is one of the most hard-driven points in Soviet era and modern Russian federation impressions:
Collar liner, I do not see one.

I admit that I still need to sew a collar liner on. For milsims I may consider leaving the EoTech off, but for rec games, it will keep the side-rail company. I'm trying to keep the impression as airsoft-friendly as I can. I think the most unrealistic part of my AK is not the EoTech, but the 27 rps... Here is my Ushanka's stamp:

The Ruskies use Eotechs a lot, actually: board.gearsoc.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9825Scroll through that and you'll find plenty of 'em using Eotechs and Micro T-1s. More than Russian scopes. Now, if you're talking about earlier days, I see why it would be unrealistic.
