Fix your spelling Knief, Its up to alex. When you push the trigger release on the serpa's, your finger is directed to the trigger faster than G-codes or Fobus's.

I have nothing else to say, well I never expected this discussion to go as far and turn out with humor.
Honestly I'm thankful it has. By pure vote the sepra appears more popular. I did check out the safariland and they look nice. It seams to pull away from the body quite a bit and it looks to have multiple levers/buttoms that I would fear tearing if I did decide to be a crawler. Not sure if it is comparable to the sepra but I would fear snagging it or getting it caught on something and damaging it. Also they seam pricey. I do however as mentioned like that I can buy it as a system.
Not having either I doubt I would know the difference.
Does anyone know where I could look up a sepra combo with a let platform or drop leg system I can check out? I do still have to consider price into my equation.
Knief, note sure I want to spite anyone just yet, but the reason you give is appealing for comical relief.
I'd like to know if anyone could link me to an easy almost buy it now for the unit so I can see exactly what a set up would look like and range.
Alex

Get the SERPA, if for no other reason than because Dahm doesn't like it. I like this the best ;D Dahm is right though, Safarilands are sweet, but it's literally down to personal preference. I like SERPA's and he likes being slow.

The debate over SERPA versus Safariland systems isn't really one of speed since both systems can be fast when the user is properly trained to their system of choice. Rather, people dislike SERPAs for two reasons: 1) Dirt in the mechanism can cause jamming which is not correctable in the field. 2) A SERPA has been involved in at least one negligent discharge (see below) and the design of the holster has been cited as a cause (by others). Here is a link to the video in which Tex Grebner shoots himself while drawing his weapon from a SERPA. He states in the video that he does not blame the holster, but commentators who have spoken to him in person allege that he does, in fact, blame the holster in addition to his poor technique. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYvAxLX6OzETwo things, First, a lot of effort has been put into trying to jam SERPA holsters. You can find video after video after video of people trying to get them to jam by cramming them full of dirt, rocks, twigs, etc. In some cases they are able to get them to jam. Would the holster jam under "normal" use? That's up for you to decide. Second, negligent discharges occur due to all sorts of things from worn out holsters to bad training to poor safety procedures. In general, the argument against SERPAs is that the position of the release forces the user to curl their finger over in order to press it and as a result when pressure is applied to the release and the pistol slides out the bent finger is able to curl into the pistol's trigger guard and cause an unintended discharge. Most people familiar with SERPAs argue A) the user shouldn't need to bend their finger at all to actuate the release and B) the only reason why a ND could occur is if the user applied far too much pressure to the release due to poor positioning of the holster and this "over pressure" causes the finger to curl, slip into the trigger card and pull the trigger while drawing. This video explains the above in more detail: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDpxVG9XFJcObviously, thousands of people own and use SERPAs on a daily basis. We don't see hundreds of ND involving SERPAs, so the cause of the SERPA related NDs can't be entirely the fault of the holster itself. Poor safety, poor training, etc are the root cause which may (depending on where you stand in the debate) be exacerbated by the holster itself. As airsofters, we still need to be concerned with negligent discharges because our equipment can still cause serious injury, especially to unprotected eyes, teeth, etc. It's for you to decide if A) there actually is an issue with SERPA holsters, B) if you can train yourself to use the SERPA holster properly to avoid an ND and C) whether or not you think that the potential for an airsoft ND outweighs the benefits of the cheaper (as compared to the Safariland system) SERPA system. TL:DR Buy whatever the hell you want, it's only airsoft.

The SERPA would be worse for crawling. You can hit the button and get it full of dirt. The ALS Safariland has a smaller button by the inside of the holster and thats it so it definitely won't be engaged during prone crawling. Either way, buy something so we can end this debate ;D EDIT: And did I mention, suede-lined Safariland's? They are suede-lined.
