That is absolutely not allowed anywhere. Its possible that wearing shooting glasses underneath would not be allowed as well unless they are FULL SEAL but that could depend on the organizer.
Article 3: Eye protection must be worn at all times, except in designated “safe” staging or preparation areas. Event organizers will inform the participants of such designated areas prior to the start of the event. It is recommended that players wear their eye protection at all times. Safety is the first priority.
• Eye protection must be of the completely sealed type (there must be contact with the eyewear frame and face, fully surrounding the eyes). Lenses must meet the minimum rating of ANSI Z87.1, MIL-V-43511C, or ASTM F 1776-01.*Edited-02/18/04, Frostee Eye protection must not be able to be brushed off, knocked off, or moved easily. It is strongly suggested that all eye protection be secured with a strong elastic strap/band (the type intended for such uses). A full mask that covers the entire face is optional, but the lenses must meet the aforementioned ANSI or ASTM specification and the area around the eyes must be sealed to the frame. Eye protection in question should be examined by the event organizers who may decide to perform a safety test before determining if the eye protection is suitable. It is highly recommended that any player wearing questionable eyewear be refused entry to the playing field. Safety is the first priority.

Instead look into purchasing a mesh face mask such as the one that I linked you to below and just use ANZSI rated (M.I.A compliant) full seal goggles. It's what I use and it works really well and it'll be allowed at pretty much all events because you're still using full seal goggles. And you still get the benefits of using a mesh mask. www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_154&products_id=33668

^ What goggles do you use with that mesh lower face mask? I tried to use it once with Bolle T-800's and it seemed like my goggles were too wide framed to fit with the mask.

The reason I want to use the mesh mask is because it won't fog up and if I wear full seal like that won't it fog up still? If there's a way I can have the best of both worlds (no fog and still being able to come to games) I'd be in your debt.

This is one of those situations where everybody is different, so there's no one solution. For instance, I've been wearing Bolle T-800s for a few years now and almost never have fogging problems. Others fog them up like there's no tomorrow. Some people swear by ESS goggles, but I fog those up almost immediately. Buying a better set of goggles than you have is a good first step, but you'll never know how well they work for you until you've used them. Look for something with good ventilation and an anti-fog coating. Anything with a fan really helps, too. And if you use some anti-fog spray or rub, all the better. Get the stuff they sell for hockey masks at your local sporting goods store and give that a shot. The combination of all of that should keep you clear on game day.
The one thing you can't do is wear mesh goggles. Some BBs shatter on impact, so instead of whole bbs going into your eyes, you'll get bb slivers going into your eyes. It's hardly an improvement is it?

Chaffin, I'm using Arena Flackjacks goggles. You have to bend and shape the wire mesh mask a little bit because there might be small gaps between your goggles and the mesh mask, and you might have a small gap between the mask and where your goggles fit over your nose, but over time at least I noticed, you can adjust it for perfect fitment.

Wear regular full-seal goggles, and stick band-aids (the meshy kind) along the inside rubber part. There's a chemical in the band-aid's adhesive that while equalize the pressure in the goggles, so they don't fog.

All right well then can some one post some links for what they consider good goggles or masks? Because until now I've been using a cheap $20-30 mask.

I would invest in Flakjaks, or if you can find them, Bolle T-800's. Or bite the bullet and buy ESS NVG Profiles, which is what Flakjaks are modeled after.

We have 4 different masks floating around my house and my brothers about to buy a saveface mask so I'm not worried about getting extras for my friends. Do you know where I can buy both of those; goggles and that iron face mesh mask that covers the bottom half of my face posted earlier? I like to purchase that stuff from the same place instead of shipping from all over.

Thanks for all this info, hopefully I'll be able to order in a week or two. Also I was looking but I couldn't find those in green camo and I was wondering if I'm just blind or if they don't have any?

Hey I just got the goggles and mask you guys suggested and they leave a gap between the goggles and mask and my dad doesn't like that at all... I'm wondering what I can do to convince my dad they're safe or how to decrease the gap?
