Remember that thing I said in my first post in this thread about the choice being personal and we wouldn't be able to agree because different people like different things about different guns? The subsequent 4 pages (especially the last two) have proven me so so right.

Lmao yea you were definitely right. But can anyone tell me the difference INTERNALLY between the stock g&g m16a3 and the m14, like as far as performace goes. Version 7 (M14) gearboxes are built MUCH better for high power setups. Version 2 (M16, M4, MP5) are much more prone to cracking if you're running a high power setup. Plus, M14's are sexier than M16's, in my opinion. The only downside to an M14 is how hard it is to actually get inside the gearbox. So many tiny screws, tiny springs, weird plastic pieces...

Fugazi is correct. The V7 gearbox doesn't have the weak point that the V2 has. The V2 is much easier to work on (though as with anything, if you learn how to work on the V7 it's no longer as daunting) and parts for it are cheaper and easier to get because it's been around much much longer and more AEGs use it.

Well g&g's m14 gearbox is easier to work on then the version 7. It uses a lot of v2 parts. But how are both guns in terms of range and accuracy

In a word, "good." You're talking about two long barreled rifles, both will shoot very similarly. Any minor difference between the two can easily be made up for with a new barrel or bucking.

go for the m14... i have one and it is a dmr, and i havent even upgraded the barrell ^You said. MiA standards say it should look like: "Go for the M14. I have one, and it's a DMR. I haven't even upgraded the inner barrel yet, and it's already shooting nicely." You didn't even give a premise upon why it's a DMR. Also, you give no reasoning as to why it's a good gun other than the fact that you have it. That seems like a pretty flimsy pretext. So essentially, you revived this thread to tell us all what gun you have.

No, he revived this thread to suggest the M14 to the OP. However, his grammar was atrocious, yes.

mrabedogg, Please read my response to you in this thread: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=accessories&thread=37056&page=2#466279Fugazi and Ghast, I know you guys are trying to help out, but please let the mods do the moderating. It's just easier for us to enforce rules when you long timers aren't contradicting each other. People get all confused. For the record, Fugazi is more correct in this instance. mrabedogg's post in this thread is all but worthless because he offered absolutely zero support for his assertion, or even confirmation that he owns the G&G M14 being discussed, rather than one from another company. This goes for everybody offering advice. If all you're going to say is, "buy gun X," then you're better off just not posting. For any advice to have real merit, you need to offer support for why you like or don't like gun X and what your qualifications for a "good" gun are. And if you aren't well known, you should probably give some of your own background so we know that you're worth taking advice from. Because mrabedogg did absolutely none of that, he gives no reason for anybody to listen to him.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the OP already chose, and bought his rifle. Which was an M14 if I remember correctly. So really, anybody posting any suggestions is posting on a blank wall. Nobody comes into the "X or X" threads unless they're posting an opinion. Since nobody's opinion is no longer needed, can't this be locked?
I think the only intrinsic value remaining is the differences between the two, which are already posted. M14's make a more long-term DMR because they're less likely to break over time, due to the gearboxes design. M16's are easier to do an impression with, especially with all the coyote brown gear, making Marine loadouts easy. M16's are also easier to find mags and accessories for, and are much easier to take apart.
^All contributions to the thread, summed up on the (hopefully) last page.
/logic.
