Always a good time at Bangor, great field and great guys who run it. Had fun hanging out with COG and everyone else. I had fun during the morning except for the obvious lack of aggression and team work from most of the green team. But this is.. ... okay, the new guys have to learn some how. And to the younger less experienced guys who where on my team, look to the more aggressive ambitious player and follow their lead and commands, you will have way more fun when you take the fight to the other team hard. Was fun until I got heat stroke and had to be taken care of, thanks to Brad and Ryan for making sure I didn't keel over. Much appreciated.

Ha, yeah I'm generally a fairly quiet dude, unless I'm shouting a kids to start shooting back. You just must have not been around for that.
Heat stroke DID SUCK.
...I was fine just before lunch when I had that Sam Adams, then we went and got chinese food and fell asleep in my tent for 15... woke up sick as hell..

Even though green got crushed, I still had a fantastic time at this event. The field was good, and the weather was as good as you could ask for given the possibility of rain.
Tan, you beat us soundly on every front, I wish to congratulate you on your superior teamwork, firepower, and positioning. You really utilized your resources and played the scenario. We were to busy trying to stay on our feet to be competitive with the objectives.
I would like to say just one thing though, and I think it was a huge problem at this event. This would be the use (or mostly the non-use) of kill rags. Numerous times throughout the day I shot at tan who were STANDING UP inside of a building or in a field, hitting them, whereupon they proceeded to berate me for shooting them while they were hit. In my book, if you don't have a kill rag, you will be shot at. Not everyone can gauge every single death on the field, and you calling hit once is insufficient to proclaim your death. (By the way, this wasn't just tan, it was both teams, I'm just using an example because I was shooting at tan and ran into this problem). On a further note, I think people should "kill rag" themselves when talking to mods, or even carry an orange/yellow rag to indicate that they are partaking in a moderated discussion of gameplay, and are REMOVED from play. Further, people who have kill rags on shouldn't be standing up and moving around. If you are concerned about getting gear dirty, etc and you absolutely have to stand, don't be moving around, you are dead. Also, for some reason, I always see people ignoring the 5 minute bleedout. Its not optional people (unless its a gameplay element).

I would agree with the kill rag, but it was my understanding at the briefing(yes I really do listen) that when you were hit(having a kill rag or not) that you should just take a knee or lay down completely and yell for a medic. To many would get hit and stand there or return to respawn before the 5 minute bleed out.

This was our first event at Bangor & I must say that it was F**King aw-some. I never experienced the no hit calling personally but was hearing a lot of tales of it. I did witness Tex's incident at the mod. tower, & I have to 100% agree with him & Chaos! I actually pulled my side-arm at the Alpha base and popped a guy & his reply was "man thats really dangerous"... I thought thats why you pulled your sidearm in these buildings, to be safer.
I do have a few small gripes as far as lack of team cohesion, & a sever lack of communications on our side. It seemed like the groups that came as teams only ran with their teams & really didn't care about the unit as a whole. The communications were in a word worthless. I'm not judging or belittling any-one here. Its just a fact. We heard very little talk and what we did hear was mostly childish bullshit & Tex telling them to can it or mission objective but no plans to accomplish them.
All in all we (Ghilli-gan, Red, Karl, & myself) the members of Task Force 13 that attended the event were really impressed with the field & the scenario. I did get a chance to meet some great guys and would be honored to share the field with them again.

As far as pistols in buildings go, the primary reason I've done it has nothing to do with safety. In close quarters like that it's far easy to maneuver and use a pistol rather than a rifle. It can give you a bit of an advantage, in buildings FA and a plethora of ammo isn't particularly necessary.

To this comment: "One callout : Short dude, black hair, mohawk, on COG that tex lit up towards the end of the day. You're a fucktard and take the game too seriously. Go play paintball."
Wow. That's some GREAT feedback there, guy. Constructive and full of great insight. NOT. It actually looks more like you saying this, "...yada yada yada, I shit myself and sat in it."
To you, Sir. Airsoft should be taken SERIOUSLY, especially by an organized TEAM. I mean, it is a MILSIM and in order to win, all aspects of a military operation should be taken into account. Or am I wrong? Paintball is a lot less serious than airsoft, so, maybe that's where YOU should go?
Green Team - I loved playing against you guys, and got "killed" more than I killed. Reminded me of how great I am at Modern Warfare 2... I realize you guys had a disadvantage as far as the newbz go, and would just like to commend you on doing a great job despite it. We dealt with a few rogue groups that felt the need to leave the city unoccupied for a chance to shoot more "Marines" and therefore, chose to become to QRF group of the Tan Team and go wherever we were needed and do whatever was asked of us.
Tan Team. Great job communicating the first half of the day. I realize we were all tired the second half of it, but that's no excuse for not using your comm. pieces if you had them. We had great squad/team movement and organization that ultimately ended in our victory. New guys, Did you like the feeling? Learn from this one. Look at what the veterans did on both teams and learn from them and utilize them at the next game. You guys did awesome!
Dingo, your crew was sick! I can't wait to play with you guys again!
I have nothing more to say, other than that the comment made directly at a fellow COG Member of mine was a dick move!

I never really witnessed the no-hit calling. I think a lot of times people overestimate the effectiveness of their 6mm projectiles through underbrush. I know I for one got the shit shot out of me all day. And even though I was a medic (no, not the dude at the mod tower), I spent half of my time getting healed by Sharky. He really did kick some ass out there!
The lack of aggression on Greens side was the biggest downside of the day. Sharky and I were medics, and often times had to lead the charges because no one else would! (Leading to the above mentioned healing).
Comm's were a big problem on green side as well. We didn't have people singing Sponge Bob, but I think that was just because none of them had radios. I really can't talk, because I had to borrow a radio from Rogue. But once I had one, there was no one to talk to! It has however, motivated me to buy quality radio gear for the next Op.
I usually run tan because, as was discussed in the "Why does Woodland suck" thread, the people that have been in the game longer usually have more camo patterns, and the green side is usually well stocked with enthusiastic young kids. However, this game we decided to go green and I don't really want to make that mistake again. Not only did the green side lack the normal mass amounts of cannon fodder, but it didn't even run into the fray with Relish's very "Enemy at the Gates" style Russian motivation in the village.
Oh, and for the love of God! Bring a freaking kill rag to the next game! It's only 1.99 for a 10 pack of red shop rags at Walmart. Buy a bag for your whole team! It really cuts down on confusion, and makes the experience better for everyone on the field. Medics know who needs to be healed, the enemy knows not to shoot you again. Etc.
I will be back at Bangor in June for Black Eagle 3, so we'll see how pre-pay and 16+ milsim changes the experience. I love Canto's Ops, and I'll keep going to them as long as he puts them on.

I believe back in Charlotte earlier this year the kill rags were mandatory, and Canto's gang was selling them for like a buck. I think that needs to happen every Op. This always seems to be a problem, and it would be so very easy to correct. If you are hit, pull out the kill rag. If you don't have a kill rag on your head, your not dead. .... I believe there was two or three other teams out there on Tan aside from mine, that stuck together. Thats sort of the point. And as far as I seen, everybody on Tan cared about what was goin on. And I don't know what all the complaining about lack of comms on the tan side is all about. Aside from the time our command channel was being jammed or had little kids on it, I never had a problem knowing what was going on. I was constantly on the radio asking Kilo what to do or giving information to anyone who was listening. Alls anybody had to do was jump on that channel and ask, and you'd have known what was goin on... And by the way, as seriously as we all take this stuff, it is above all else a game. Just a game. So if bad things happen out there, learn from it and let it go. No need to fight about what happened. It doesn't do anybody any good...

Remember, no geneva conventions during WWII! I had a great time, a number of the usual gripes came around, but that's the usual. One callout : Short dude, black hair, mohawk, on COG that tex lit up towards the end of the day. You're a fucktard and take the game too seriously. Go play paintball. Had a great time shooting with you all(even though we got absolutely demolished)! I'm tired and am gonna go take a hot bath so my legs dont fall off. I like how you're too big of a man to call me out in person when I am standing right next to you, so you wait until you get onto the forums to flame me. Real mature of you. I am sorry, but unfortunately you got fucking raped, and as CO you should really sit back and think about how you helped your team perform so poorly. You also should take your MOD status and be a little more professional. Yes, I take the game very seriously, and so does the rest of my team like many teams like us. I play the game hard, and to win. I take it so serious that I personally killed 12 of your teammates in a row before just walking up behind you dead on the ground already. You were SO upset that you couldn't help but to nearly cry about it. Maybe when you grow up, and grow a pair, you can come to ME and resolve your issues. Don't waste everyone's time on MIA reading your worthless banter. This isn't a place to flame ANYONE, so don't do it.

First off, I would like to say thanks to team F.L.A.K and Armory Airsoft for hosting an awesome event. Task Force 13 and I had a damn good time. We fought for the Japenese side and it was fun kicking some ass. Green team did a hell of job and were great opponents (with exception of a few bad apples already mentioned). The field was really unique and great to play on. I really enjoyed the P.O.W part of the game because I have never experienced it in any game that I have played. I think it discourages people from going "rogue" because they risk giving the other team points. I did make a mistake in getting captured when I should have fell back but I ended up capturing the same guy who got me earlier which I thought was funny. I want to offer some constructive criticism opinions that I think would have made this game better. It has already been mentioned but I think the communications within the team needed a lot of attention. Squads needed seperate channels, people need to learn how to TURN OFF VOX, and worthless chatter needs to be kept to a minimum. No offense to anyone but I think if you are going to volunteer to be a CO than you need to know what your role is to your team. You need to be assertive and take CONTROL of what your team is doing at ALL times. Also, I think the CO needs to take charge in setting up his squads as best he can to ensure all squads are functional. For example, splitting up the newbs with the experienced players and anything else you can think of that would apply. I thought the medic ratio was to low as well. I did not receive one medic heal yesterday and I heard the same from quite a few people. I am not sure how many people we actually had on the tan squad but two medics was not enough. Perhaps 1 medic per 8-12 people would be better?
The bang kill issue seemed to get out of control. It would have helped if it was covered in the briefing so everyone was on the same page. I am cool with bang or no bang but we had people acting like complete jerks about this. Some people were complaining about being shot to close (the "dangerous" comment by CROAKER) and others acting like a complete asshole when there was a legit dead to rights bang kill situation. All of that could have been avoided is all I am saying.
One other incident I want to mention involved an ACCIDENTAL friendly fire situation (no one actually got hit). I'll make this short and quick. I accidently fired on some tan that flanked from the green side and the guy responds with "I'm tan you fing fa**ot". That garbage has no place in airsoft. Have some respect for other players and understand that it was an accident, get over it. People don't intentionally friendly fire. I let the it slide but I walked away really pissed off feeling like I should have dropped the kid. That is all I'll say about that.
All things considered, I had a great time at Bangor. It was a pleasure playing with everyone out there and I look forward to playing some airsoft with everyone at future events.
