Ew. Please take off the ghetto cheek rest. Literally it ruins the entire gun for me (that and the aforementioned suppressor) Just get some low profile scope mounts and remove the tape and foam from your rifle. Hmm.. and here I thought you were a fan of practicality all along. Guess not. I could buy a nice pretty looking cheek rest for $65 + shipping.. or I could just use some foam and get the perfect height for my cheek for under $1.99. I'll stick with the foam.

Keep the cheek rest and silencer. Spending your time on something so frivelous with that rifle is useless. It's absolutely gorgeous Dahm. Hows she shoot?

I'm glad someone understands why it doesn't need to have a flawless exterior.. Its shooting alright stock, but it has a terrible stock inner barrel and hop up. They are both trash. I've got a new hop up, and an EdGI coming, which should really boost performance. Those EdGI barrels take a while to come though since they didn't have a VSR type in 590mm. I had to have them make one with their latest batch.. We shall see though when it comes.

I am for practicality, but airsoft is all about tacticool; that foam is not tacticool. I'm just not a big fan (at all) of the home-made cheek rest. Even roughneck's (sorry Rough, the truth comes out) SPR I feel is destroyed by the custom cheek rest. If god has intended the cheek rest to be that high then he would have made it that way. I still say remove it and add in some hardware for a cheek rest if you need one.

Dahm, I know you haven't been doing this long, running around with a high-powered bolt action that is. But you really shouldn't be engaging people if they're close enough to use a reflex. With great power comes great responsibility. Just make sure you're within your engagement limits when you use it. That's why I never got one of those things for my rifle, it detereorates target discrimination and engagement discipline.
I'm with Troub, I like a rifle that looks like it's been through some tough times. I like where you were going with the cheek rest but that shit's gotta go. My real steel one was only $60 anyway. Your PVC barrel shroud is.. interesting. But your rich ass should buy an actual suppressor.
It's a good start, though. The box mag looks real good. Let me know how that Edgi barrel is. I want one of their bull barrels for my VSR project.

I had my PTW running a red for slightly over a year, and before than an M14 at just under 450. Thanks for the warning, but I'm pretty good with engagement limits. The minimum zoom on my scope is 4x, and that gets a little close sometimes when I target is 60 feet away... I'm sure you can understand that too. I still don't see whats wrong with having a piece of foam on a stock if it gets you the right cheek height... there are U.S. Army snipers who use rags and duct tape.. I'll let you know how the EdGI Barrel is. EDIT: Not rich so not seeing your point on the suppressor.. its been gone over many times before on this thread now. EDIT2: Note on suppressor - I would need a suppressor adapter, and for the EdGI barrel I'm using (its cut for a VSR) it wouldn't work. There isn't a suppressor adapter made for VSR diameter thats cut for an M24 barrel. Therefore, homemade is the best bet.

Devil, a lot makes me happy. Like this rifle, which is why I said I like it.
Dahm, if you wanna make the cheekrest look better just completely cover it in 100mph tape.

Its got 100mph tape on the ends - not genuine 100mph tape but close enough, holding it on. Do you really think it would look good covered in it?

Yes, it would. Look at Rough's SPR for example. Sexy as shit.

There may be l33t snipers using rags and tape but I think Koko has a point, this is airsoft and we tend to spruce up our guns to look cool first and be practical second. Your old PTW is a good example.
Poor boys don't own BMW's and $2,000 airsoft guns. You can bore out the adapter and make it work. It's doable.
As for the cheek rest, if you like it then keep it. I just figured since you bought all that stuff for your PTW, buying a cheek rest and a suppressor wouldn't be an issue.

Maybe the Hellfish way is to make it fancy and shiny, but it seems a lot of Airsofters find sexiness in the practicality. So I wouldn't say the whole of Airsoft wants to have shiny pretty guns. I see just as many muddy F-150s as I do shiny fast sports cars, if you catch my drift.

I can't spend all my money, and money I don't even have on airsoft anymore. I think this thread is less about my rifle and more about my spending habits... maybe we should steer it back on track.

I think it looks fantastic and I think you should leave it. Jamie is simply looking down his nose at you because you have a sniper rifle and he thinks (not mistakenly I might add) that he's the shit when it comes to sniper rifles.

Me love you long time. I did wrap the whole cheek piece up, which does look better (thank you Troub). For now I have the suppressor off to do some upgrading work with the barrel/inner. Whether it will go back on as is, different, or at all is still brewing in my mind.
