since most of the gameplay that involves firefights will be during the daylight hours, NVG's are not going to be allowed. Also, we dont want any unfair advantages. I was thinking more along the lines of just using them for mapping, but if you dont want them being used, thats fine. for everybody that is bitching about the price, think of it this way, there is a while till this even, JUNE 13th! so set aside like $0.50 a day and you will have more than enough money for the event!

So when do we get a peek at the patches?

The patches are being held a secret for privacy reasons, and we don't want fraudelent people coming (Because you only get the patch when you register and it's confirmed that you paid).
The design is pretty good, and I know that you'll like em.

I am highly interested in testing my skill as a sniper here. Any chance we can get a peek at the missions or just a sample of a mission. I am sure I could get myself and a spotter plus 1-3 guards to go on this OP but can I say that Ghillie shouldnt be required. I wear a ghillie but my spotter (when I have one) doesnt. It realy should just be strongly suggested but not mandatory.

This sounds like a fantastic idea. I know there has been a craving for one of these types of OP's for a long time. All the details sound good except for the rule only allowing bolt actions. I was curious as to why this detail was put into place. Wouldn't that eliminate anyone with an SR-25, or a semi-auto only SPR such as myself? While I understand having the capability of putting more rounds downrange quicker than the bolt action guys is a huge advantage, SASS's are loud. Because of this, the odds of them being found are greater unless the team uses proper techniques whereas a bolt action is extremely quiet and I never know that a round has been fired until I get hit.
Just something to consider.

Hey Mosin,
First off, sounds like a great idea. Now I just have a couple questions, first off, are there any uniform requirements for Guards? Or is it just a wear whatever you've got?
Second, what kind of radio do you need? I was looking at getting one anyway, so I'd like to get one that will work for this kind of event.
Thanks,
-Clampitt

I wear a ghillie but I normaly do not have a spotter so no one else on my team has a ghillie. I realize this and I wear it every game and when I am hunting, I have broken in it well and it needs a few repairs/touch-ups from use. But I think that if someone does not have a ghillie that should be there choice, plus it would be more of a challenge for them as for us with a ghillie we can sit back, watch, and laugh at them struggle while we complete the objective.

Thanks, -Clampitt For guards right now I think it's just a woodland type base, but if you've got a group of friend that have a certain color camo or scheme then we'll have to talk about it. I don't really see it being a big issue, but just make sure you have either a desert scheme or woodland, pending on what we need. Radios for Sniper/Spotter teams really don't matter, as long as they are an 8+ channel radio. You might want to invest in a headset/micriphone piece as it'll probably give away your position talking into it in the field.

If I go, I'll probably just be a guard, seeing as I don't have a sniper rifle, nor a sniper to spot for. I've got BDU, DCU and ACU as well, I was just wondering what I need to make sure is squared away for this thing is all.
And if I'm a guard, I don't mind rocking the loud as sin radios, haha. Just wondering what might be good overall. I'll go look in the gear sections for radio advice now.
Thanks for answering.

Can we get a roster up? I am not going to attend but I am still interested in seeing who is going.

There is no roster because it's just applications, But so far we've got about 9 applications, 4 of them are ex-military. As far as the guards go, we've got a few people interested, but no worries.
Most of the guys that have applied are out of state anyways, majority from Ohio, with a few from Indiana and Illinois.

thread cleaned...
Just as an added reminder, to avoid clutter, I ask that both the snipers and the spotters application go into the same email. If it is not possible, that is fine, as we can just match names, but for convenience, please try to have both applications in one email. Thanks.
