I know its probably the rules of the field, but the full paintball mask required is gonna turn a lot of people off, especially at that price for a rec game. But Ive been to Whitmore Lake before, its a lot of fun. Whoever goes should have a blast.

I've been to Whitmore Lake once. If they now require a full paintball mask, then that one time was probably my last. Trying to play airsoft at paintball fields causes headaches to no end. It always has, and it always will until paintball field owners realize that airsoft is not quite the same. Same thing for ops that require you to have your mouth covered. If I'm over 18 and I signed a waiver to play, then it's my choice how I protect myself beyond full-seal goggles. If I want to take a chance of getting shot in the mouth (which I have been), then that's my choice.

Yeah I agree. Everyone knows that paintball is at a decline because of the crappy economy right now that's why a lot of paintball places are branching out. If they want to attract more airsofters they'll have to make concessions and compromises and the first thing that should go is the requirement of the full paintball mask. That should be at the discretion of the player.

If they want to attract more airsofters they'll have to make concessions and compromises and the first thing that should go is the requirement of the full paintball mask. That should be at the discretion of the player. I agree, however that is the underlining problem. It's not up to the owners to make the changes to allow face masks at the discretion of the player. It's the insurance companies that are calling the shots. Seeing there are only a few insurance companies to choose from and full face masks are a required from all of these companies, the owners don't have much of an option to choose from. So, what would you do as a owner? Run without insurance and put your business at risk? Or have insurance to protect your business and your family from a Blood Sucking Sue Happy Lawyer who could care less if he leaves you and your family homeless living in a shelter. Any business running a sport today would be very foolish to NOT have insurance. Golf courses to the sport of laser tag have insurance. If 'WE' as airsofter's want more than just a few places to play at, and paintball fields happen to be the option. Then we must accept the circumstances of these fields (full face masks, paint on the trees, etc.).

I feel very fortunate that our other partner business; Hole In The Wall Paintball allows us to make our own decision on goggles. Our full seal regulation that started a few months ago was our own decision. I, for one hate full seal goggles, but for safety's sake we need that rule. I admit, sometimes people slip through the cracks on that rule, but that happens everywhere..

It's a great field, I think over 300 acres. Also you're allowed to mod the mask to be able to look down your sights and what not.

...mod the mask to be able to look down your sights and what not. As in taking off the full face mask part? Because Ive done that with a few full face JT Ricochet masks before

Guys, all the masks can be cut down!!!! You can cut out MOST of it really. It just needs to cover the nose, mouth, and ears, pretty much everything else can be cut down! Me, Skypilot, and El Phantasamo are going to be working on the stories for these ops, and we're hoping they are going to be a-lot of fun. If you've never been to the field before, I suggest trying it at least once. It's a big field, and there is lots of stuff there. The pictures on their crappy website don't do it justice at all!
