Since we've got a nice new forum for stuff like this, we may as well use it, right? Here's my take on UN Company, one of the more popular HK retailers:
My first Airsoft purchase from Hong Kong was done through UN Co. I started my initial search by looking around at various retailers for the things I wanted (at the time, a MP5 scope mount, G&P Aimpoint replica, KSC M93R pistol/mags/holster, and a tightbore barrel for my MP5). I followed this up by e-mailing several retailers about the products, shipping, customs, etc. I did this more out of curiousity than anything else, and as a way to gauge how their customer service worked.
The first reply I recieved was from UN Co. It was clear, easily readable english, and directly to the point. They covered everything I had asked, and even included a little extra information in places where I didn't know I needed it. Needless to say, I was impressed, as I recieved the reply less than 24 hours after it was originally sent. The other retailers chimed in eventually, up to a week later. After bopping around the forums a bit, reading up on others' experiences with UN Co, I decided that I'd go with them.
So, I placed my order, and got a confirmation e-mail the next day. They had all my items in stock, and would ship them as soon as I paid them, and they verified my payment. I recieved an e-mail the day after stating that my order had shipped, with a tracking number and receipt.
Three days later, a box arrived at my door. I happily tore into it, and found all my items there, and intact. The box hadn't been opened by customs at all. Inspecting the items, I found everything had been packed well, save my spare M93R magazine, which had the clip securing the grip extension broken off. Looking at the thing, I can see how this could easily be done (I've since broken the clip off the other mag also ). The pistol had the trades covered as I had advised, with liquid electrical tape which was very easily removed by simply slipping a fingernail under the edge. It left no permanent marking on the slide of the gun. The orange on the barrel also came off easily when a little nail polish remover was applied.
Overall, I was quite happy with the service I recieved, and with the speed at which I recieved my order. I've since placed a second order (for some MP5 midcaps), and that went over just as well...though it did take a couple extra days to get the mags...they were shipped over the weekend, however, so I understand completely
In conclusion, I'd recommend UN Company to anyone that wishes to purchase directly from Hong Kong. Prompt e-mail replies in good english (you don't want to try to read the reply I got from WGC), quick processing, and fast shipping...I couldn't ask for more.
