hi my name is tim koscielny i run an airsoft team out of flat rock. i was curious if there is a league set up or if any one wants to help start up a league. i am aware of the various events that take place monthly but i want to set up a league so there is events every week between different teams. i was wondering if anyone would be interested or if any team would be interested. if you are we can start getting information together about the teams and players. also we would need a list of fields that are playable.
we would also make up a ranking system.
you can email me at dsoairsoft@yahoo.com or osiris@dsoairsoft.com
or just repost

im based out of flat rock, michigan about 35 minutes south of detroit.
i really dont have to much information at this moment im still in the planning stages right now im just trying to figure out what teams or players think this is a good idea. and then i need to get teams info about where they are located if they have a field how many team members. stuff like that.
but what i plan on or hope to have is a league like sports have where teams would play each other like every other day or weekend at different fields. and at the end of the season have a tournament for the two top teams. but there can be league sponsered events too.
also at each game or even there would be a tech area to make sure the guns will be ok to play with and to make sure they dont exceed certian speeds.
and a committe or a board would have to be set up to make up specific rules to fps ratings, minum shooting distances, type of games played, fields, just plain organization, oh and to try to organize a ranking scale that everyone in the league will use to promote team members from private to corpral, and so on.
any other ideas and help would great.

I dont know but when teams start getting really competitive, it tends to lead to cheating. Unless you have some dedicated people scouting around for HITS then i would'nt touch the concept.

Hey names Josh West, I'm a member of DsO airsoft. ok intro is over now on to what i was going to say. ;D
With regards to cheating by not counting shots a few steps could be taken. *Maybe* (these are ideas I'm throwing out, judge them how you see fit) 1) FPS and MSD would be kept such that you would want to call your shots because you really wouldn't want to get hit again.
2) Having a or a few officials designated by the Airsoft league walking around during games, helping you to fight the urge to "cheat." and to also be a general pain because thats what officials are for, right?
3) Getting caught "cheating" would cause a fine/dismissal/numbered warnings or what have you, Just something in the nature of a deterrent. Having the "Officials" call the cheating and issue punishment in said circumstances and also having a "Bord of officials" to decide on more drastic punishment in specific situations of cheating if need be.
To make this legal you would have to sign a waver/T.O.P form before you could participate in A.L. events. The form would be kept on file along with the team information, maybe gun registration (with a laminated member/registration card to show at events or what have you.) That could also play key in ranking systems, it could have a number on it where you could look it up on a web based database. Also to search for other AL members see their profiles and all that good stuff.
Things I abbreviated TOP- Terms of play AL- Airsoft League FPS- feet per second (duh) MSD- Minimum shooting distance

well said josh, yes i would have desinated officials who would walk around to help people to stop cheating. the officials would be marked by a specific shirt or an arm tag.
im working out the rules and the kinks.
right now im just trying to get interested people so i can get a list of teams that are willing to participate.
it will be a few months before the league will start if i can get enough people willing to participate. at the begining of the season there will be one big game to promote the league before league games start.
