hint: You can get a Surefire G2 Nitrolon for 30 bucks...it's a 6V light, and pretty damn near indestructible. Plus, it's a surefire, and not some POS knockoff.
If you're willing to spend near $100 for a flashlight, then there is absolutely no reason whatsoever not to buy a surefire.
Also worth noting...and, oddly enough, this info came from Zorak (I believe)...the 9v lights aren't a whole lot brighter than the 6v ones, but the "size" of the beam is much larger.

That's true within the Surefire line, anyway. Their lights typically have a bright center and a broad corona. In the 9V models, the bright center is noticable larger, but the beam throw is about the same, so they won't shine any farther unless you go to a Turbo Head.

Ok, I will search in a bit, I know Surefire is the way to go, I just didnt think I could get a good one, being that the knock off versions were 100$....
And, I really like the way the G&P one looks, Does surefire make one that looks about that good? Like I said, I'll search, but if you guys know of any off hand... Let me know. Thanks in advance.

To me, the G&P light looks very similar to either surfire's G2z or M95. With the G2z at $84 and the M95 in the $300 however, the G2Z would be the way to go (for you) between those two. my two cents ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I don't know. THat G&P is cathcing my eye. And, they make extenders for it, so I can make it a 9V if i wanted. The m95 looks nice, but i dont like the look of the g2z. I know it's not important how it looks, but I'm being picky for 100$ on a flashlight.....
Maybe I should go to kmart and buy a little enegizer 3.99$ flashlight and ducttape it on..... (j/k)

(j/k) If, by "looks", you mean the crenellated bezel, then the E2D is what you're looking for, and comes in at $105. Yeah, it's an extra 20-dollar bill, but I'd be very willing to spend that 20 bucks to go from Hong-Kong knockoff quality to top-of-the-industry quality.

That's the light I was just looking at actually. But, It's another 20$, and then still need to buy a mount for it... and.... still need a wired pressure switch too.... so.. another 20$... I added up my list, and my gun is going to add up to over 900$.....I don't want 1/8 of that price being a flashlight. I have nothing else to say. E2D I'd take right now, if it came with the pressure switch. I know i'm being childish about this and i'm sorry, but I don't know. I wan't your advice, but I just can't handle the truth I suppose. I'll have to think about it a bit more, and try and find a pressure switch for it. If I can't find one, then I'm not going to consider it at all.
Thanks, and sorry - Kev

I don't like pressure switches, they work, for a while, but most just break. Maybe it's just my experiences, but out of the 3 flashlights I own, and of all 3, they all had power switches, they all broke. So now I am down to using the original screw type button. I like it a lot better, especially for my green laser sight. I know it gives away my position (because the beam can go, though I haven't really measured, around 500 to what I estimated was 1000 feet).
Personally, Surefire is definately the way to go, but I must say, that I have G&P's M3 Replica Tactical Flashlight for my Glock19, and it is the brightest flashlight I own (though, I do not own any Surefires to compare it to).

You're not going to get a wired power switch for an E-series Surefire. Surefire weapon lights cost a lot of money because they're built to stand up to all the pounding that a rifle takes and all the recoil it dishes out. Since airsoft guns have next to no recoil and get babied compared to military weapons, we can get by just fine with the inexpensive Surefire models. (BTW, there is an extension tube to convert the Surefire 6P and dimensionally similar lights to 9v.) The $35 Surefire G2 will throw as much light as any 6v light ever made, and will run fine on an AEG. If you absolutely must retain the option of going 9v somewhere down the line, go with the 6P. If you need a tape switch, buy one of these. It's not going to be a Surefire-quality tape for that price, of course. If your concern is that the Surefire doesn't look badass enough, ask yourself how badass your replica light will look once people start pointing at it and laughing at how much money you spent on it when you could have had a Surefire.

We are issued a cheap G2 for our M4, but then again, we are the Air Force, and you probably want to mirror the gear of a real soldier.
Just sayin', it is an incredibly bright and durable little tactical light, and an awesome value.

xaos & Zorak, The G2 doesnt look like a bad light, and I can get the pressure switch for it, and put my money towards other stuff.... The G2Z, I'm considering that as well, but will the pressure switch fit it? It says for Tacstar T6 Tactical, Surefire 6P, C2, C3, G2, Nitrolon Flashlight , but will it only work for the g2, or will it work for the g2z as well? I'm a complete newbie to flashlights. I have an mp5 right now, and I use my stock CA light. That thing is bright as hell. It's a 6V. The 9V seem a bit long, and I trust 6V's pretty well, If soemthinng changes, I can always buy a connecter like you mentioned zorak. Will any flashlight mount hold the g2 or the g2z securelely? Or Should I be looking for a specific mount?
I won a flashlight at codename thunder, I'm not sure of its quality, I havent recieved it yet. I had to leave the event early, and I have been having trouble getting it now. I just emailed Justin at aggressive and asked him what kind it is. So... If it's good enough, I can use that, but I really don't think it's that good of a light... Keep comments coming, because I plan on buyign a surefire now, no matter what. And if by chance that light I won is good, 3 of my teamamtes will still need all this info. Thanks - Kev

As far as a mount goes (for the G2 at least, and probaly the G2Z) you can use a simple 1" scope ring if you dont want anything fancy. Also, if you want more light you can "upgrade" the standered bulb (65 lumens ) to a 120. Only down side it your run time goes from about an hour to 20 mins ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)
