I gotta get me a pair of those ACUs. You can actually look at it and see how it would fit in to different environment settings (woodland, desert, maybe even snow), i like it. But like Bigmack said, the sound of tearing velcro apart sucks when you're trying to be stealthy.

After seeing that video i think the new uniforms are great except for color and velcro.

I must admit its ugly but it will take time gettin used to. Like along time ago woodland was yucky and now its sweet.

Has anybody bought/been issued, a set of these? I hate to bring up a dead thread, but it's been a while since the last post, and no one has posted about these since. So if someone has a set, could you put up a review about how it works in a woodland environment.
Thanks

I can see it now. Corporal Ramirez comes up on the flank of two resitance members. Sliding slowly across the wall, his pocket snags. *ssccchhhhkkkk* *ratatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatat...tat* To me this is proof, as to why marines are superior Because they have prettier camouflage...

No they don't. MARPAT is ugly as hell. Effective, but ugly.

well, not to argue, but MARPAT is friggin awesome!! i dunno, these "ACU's" dont look right to me. i think they should keep the layout for the patches and name tapes the same, and have them sewn on, so that they will stay on and not cause problems. the pocket velcro i could live with, but those patches, i would sew them on myself. and that camo pattern, i dont like any sort of "multicam" it just doesnt work well in any one place, its marginal in all, its good enough to seem like a good idea, and bad enough to get people killed in the field. thats my 2 cents

From the pictures of Mutli-Cam that I have seen, it seems to work pretty damn good. This ACU doesn't seem to work anywhere however.

if it's the same stuff as the ACU that's being talked about, it's not all that great in woodland =\ Devildog bought a set of it, and while it looks nifty to stand around in... i'm not so sure it works great out in the field. I know, at the very least, that it's like wearing blazing white at twilight... other'n that it's no different than woodland, maybe even a bit worse.

I hope I dont get issued that crap when i join. Its nothing but pure uglyness, and your right, it doesn't work in the field, I saw DD from a mile away

For full story and pics click hereCan't really say I'm too pleased with the color scheme, but the new features and updates sound promising. From what I've heard the photos included in the article don't do the new pattern much justice (meant to look more muddier/browner) All I have to say is Metal Gear Solid 3 Guess its here to stay so, goodbye woodland.

On the subject of velcro..How often does 1 go into there pockets?Maps are usually hidden in head gear.Mags and so forth are in web gear so......Dip n smokes are usually in pockets.Observing noise and light discipline ,we wouldn't smoke so ....pass the dip. This isn't the first time Velcro has been used.Back in the early 90 (desert storm) some of my division was issued Bdu's with Velcro. One of the reasons button sucks is they tend to put holes in the uniform. We press and starch .to give it that sharp crisp look. The ACU are not suppose to be pressed or starched.
