Hello! I have been playing really low-key airsoft with my friends for a few years(Spring loaded pistols mostly, Heh) and would like to start playing a little more serious. I currently have a ~$200 budget for a new starter gun. I would prefer: - AEG
- Decent FPS
- Mid-Long range
Which brands are the best? What type of gun? What attachments? Where to buy them(Grand Rapids area, or online)? And for future reference, What type of equipment would you recommend? Thank you in advance!

G&G Combat Machine Don't be fooled by the low FPS. I know that many of the members of this site will recommend this gun because of its out of the box performance and reliability. You can also use it for CQB. Just be aware that you'll need a battery and charger to go with the gun. I'd go with some kind of smart charger, and a small battery that will fit in the handguard. Don't buy your battery off of an airsoft website though, they charge way too much, and most R/C hobby shops have quality batteries for cheap.

I couldn't agree more! My first "real" AEG was the basic combat machine and I still use it. It performs like a champ every time! Mine shoots a consistent 347 and with my TBB it has awesome accuracy for field use. I swear by them.

I'll back that up, I started with a ECHO1 M4 with about 390 fps, and wound up switching to the Combat Machine, FPS isn't everything, you won't be disappointed.

If you're looking for something to last you, the ever-recommended combat machines will and are your best bet.
They're are a lot of styles, namely: CQB, standard length, and a longer R8-l. From the sounds of it, the standard length m4 should do you well. There's also blowback and non-blowback models. I tend to recommends the non blowback version, due to the unneeded stress the 'blowback" puts in your gearbox.
Welcome, hope to see you on the field.

They are on sale for $120 THIS WEEKEND from their normal $150-160 price tag. That price can easily nab you a gun, a few mags, and maybe a LBV of some sort for your price range.

Whatever you get, upgrade nothing. Literally nothing. Leave it as is and it'll run.

Read some post around the forums, You have asked such repetitive questions, they have all been answered multiple times by multiple people. Stop being lazy and try to learn some thing.
There are several stickied posts in the NEWB sections you could learn a lot if you took more time to read instead of just trying to get quick easier answers that will be biased based on what other players like.
And you will piss a lot of the mods off doing things this way. Just a heads up.

The issue with your post is that you didn't give us anything to go on. We have no idea what style gun you like so therefore the options are practically infinite. I don't remember if our forum has rules against Which gun threads but generally you need to provide a couple options to us and we can share our knowledge on those particular guns. The problem is that without knowing who you are and what you like we have no idea what to suggest. We can tell you to buy a combat machine but what if you don't like M4/M16 style guns? I would check out the following thread... miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&post=115704Sent from my XT1080 using proboards

But, to answer your questions, X, i would like to be in the fight, but not in their faces with it. preferably an AS AEG i do happen to love the M16/M4 style of guns and the Combat machine seems like an excellent fit for me.

Still, you should read the stickies. For example, double posting is against forum rules. You can just go to your old post and edit it if you want to add something new.
And as long as you abide by the rules no one will have any problems with your posts.

Glad to hear we helped. I would definitely recommend reading all the stickies. Most of the rules are common sense stuff, but not all. Like double posting, necro posting, using decent grammar, and some of the section specific rules. After reading the stickies you'll probably be the most educated airsofter you know. Until you come out to a game that is A lot of us started out just like you so you can skip a lot of the pain we went through by learning from our mistakes. I bought many shit guns before I found this place. Welcome to the boards! Sent from my XT1080 using proboards

Sent from my XT1080 using proboards Amen! Even when I did find the forum, I didn't listen to their advice and ended up buying junky guns anyway. Do yourself a favor and not only read the stickies, but heed them!
