Hello again! I was wondering in general(just got my paycheck) is the G&G Combat machine Raider any different from the standard one? Also, seeing as how Airsplat has the 35% off everything sale going on, i think ill be purchasing from them. Thanks in advance! Normal Combat Machine.
"Raider" Combat MachineP.S. And if anyone could help me with battery type/charger to best suit this gun it would be much appreciated

My main difference between the two guns you posted is that the Raider has a railed handguard. This allows you to easily add accessories like a vertical front grip, a flashlight, and even lasers. With this type of front end however there is no room in the handguard for the battery. To fix this the gun is wired to the rear and the batter goes inside the stock. This is much better in my opinion. My son has the exact gun but with the cqb barrel and it's awesome. The body and front rail are all a higher quality plastic so it's really light yet really solid too. I would avoid buying your battery and charger from an airsoft retailer. They typically rape you on both of those items. For a battery you are going to need a " crane stock" style. Go to cheapbatterypacks.com and they have a nice guide to help you make sure you get the proper battery for your replica. I would buy a 9.6 volt crane stock battery from them. Finally your going to need a smart charger. These are the only way to go if you are buying a high quality battery. I've seen them on amazon for around 20 bucks.

If I can advise anything that I learned starting out a free years ago, don't skimp out on anything, stretch your budget as much as you can. This hobby has I high initial cost, but is pretty cheap in the long run, as long as you keep from buying things twice.
I bought a cheap clone we I was starting out, and quickly grew tired of being it gunned. I bought a cheap kit, and cheaper paintball mask, and was unhappy with them both. That money was a complete waste. Had I just shelled up the money for the plate carrier I wanted, and a better gun, I would have been much more ahead.
Now I can't speak for the gun mentioned here, but I do love my g&g! But what I would do is spend my money once. Buy a gun you can keep and use for good. Maybe look to save a few bucks buying used. I would suggest a something that uses the m4 style magazine, for the simple fact that Aton of guns use them, so if you do want a second gun down the road, you don't need new magazines. But something with a rail system. You may come a point in time where you are playing a night game, and need a flashlight, it's much easier to have a gun built for it, then try to modify. Plus they look cool as hell, and you can Customize it to set yourself apart from the rest.
Splurge on the gun, then buy a kit later. You can through a couple of mag pouches on you belt until you have the scratch to build a kit you like. Kits can be relatively cheap, and you have the luxury of building it in stages. And it isn't really necessary to have a huge fancy kit. I played a game once where a guy had a ruck sack filled with enough supply's for 2weeks. But his car was in the parking lot, he lives 20min always, and the game was only 6hours!
Finally, never cheap out on safety equipment. You can get very good goggles for 50bucks, don't risk your eye sight on junk. I like the combination of my revision dessert locust, and a mesh lower face guard... I can play with out the lower if I feel like it, and bend it to form my face more to help aim down the sights.
That's just my two cents, you're going about it the right way, find out everything you can, then decide for what is best for you. Just remember, it's always cheaper to buy things once.

You can get very good goggles for 50bucks, don't risk your eye sight on junk. There isn't even really a reason to spend $50. A decent pair of Flakjaks can be purchased for $30 if websites like Evike still aren't being retarded with the pricing ( they raised them to $50 awhile ago, while most of websites still had them at $30.) I've ran scotts, I've ran paintball masks, I've ran Bolles and I had fogging issues with all of them except the flakjaks.

Like double posting, necro posting, using decent grammar, and some of the section specific rules. Or like using ironic sentence fragments. Lulz...

Sorry, you're right. Ess and revisions both run around 25-30. At any rate, I would go with a name brand ballistic goggle.

Thank you for the warning. Please accept my deepest apology for pointing out the irony of someone correcting grammar with poor grammar. I thought I was simply sharing my amusement, but as that is apparently undesired here I shall attempt to reign in my humor henceforth.
Back on topic... I have a pair of ESS NVG's I bought off eBay for $20 and they are great.
Also, the Combat Machines Raider was my first AEG and it has performed wonderfully for the price. I concur with snafu in that the front rail is very nice to have. Attachments are a great way to easily customize your rifle. I would definitely suggest the raider over the standard.
