Well if you want a combat machine don't miss this thread: miairsoft.proboards.com/thread/47857/wts-combat-machine-quick-saleBrand new and cheaper than any online store. And this might've been said earlier in the thread, but I'll say it again just in case: get an AR variant for your first gun. Reason being, G&G M4's and the like all have common V2 gearboxes, cheap mags, and a plethora of upgrades, not to mention the fact that tons of people have used that gun and can likely help you with any problems you have. I personally made the mistake of getting a SCAR H for my first gun, and the mags are super pricey and there's a lot of proprietary parts. Just my $.02

I've been meaning to ask, whats that glove you're wearing in your picture? On your right hand. *Edit* P.S. check This out. The gloves are just fingerless gloves with a mesh upper I got for $5 from meijer, but I'm assuming what you're wondering about is what's on my wrist. That's a shotgun stock shell holder, which I got from Walmart for a little less than $5, which I wear on my wrist to carry 5 CO2 cartridges. In the pic, that was at a paintball game so I had them for my T9.1, but now I plan on using it to carry CO2 for my EF 1911. For that game in particular, I was over-prepared. I have a shotgun bandoleer that I still use as a belt with my vest, but at that game I had it loaded with 20 CO2 cartridges+5 on my wrist+5 in my shotgun pouch on my vest. I didn't change a cartridge ONCE, and that was an all day milsim. We spent most the game getting ambushed and not having the chance to even return fire. Either that or we were flanking. By the way, as far as the commerce thread, I'm looking for a Digital Woodland/OD setup, so most the stuff there wouldn't really work out for me. That, and the guy wants higher-than-retail prices for parting out with stuff.

To start, all you need is a gun, face/eye protection, good footwear, and some high caps. Once you get all that down, than work your way up to gear and upgrades. Yeah I don't have the gun yet, but I do have a paintball mask for the time being, a good yet heavy pair of waterproof boots, molle gear, and a bunch of other stuff, but I'm missing the essentials. I am a bit of a gear whore, so I am probably going to overdo it, but that's the way I do it I guess haha. Thanks for the input! I've heard lots of bad things about the Smith Boogies, and for only $15 more, you can get the Bolle X1000s ( www.lapolicegear.com/bolle-x1000-goggles.html ). I have used these for 1.5 years, they are so comfortable that I forget I'm wearing them (no joke) and don't fog even though I've cleaned the lenses only once and never used antifog. They are also lower profile than ESS NVGs and Revision Desert Locusts. I haven't heard much negative stuff about the Boogies, but the Bolle X1000s are quite impressive. I'd love them in foliage but LAPG have them backordered, which sucks because they've got the best price on them(Except Botach Tactical, which has them for $20, which seems WAY too good to be true). I'll keep searching. Well if you want a combat machine don't miss this thread: miairsoft.proboards.com/thread/47857/wts-combat-machine-quick-saleBrand new and cheaper than any online store. I'm definitely into the G&G, and I love how it's upgrade-able! I did like the Masada for a while, but eventually decided against it, due to it having very horrible reviews. As for the commerce thread, I just wish SO BAD that he was selling a black one! I'm not a fan of tan guns AT ALL, so I'm really not sure if it's worth saving $50. Sure it's a good deal, but if $50 stands between the gun in a color I don't like, and the gun in the color I do like, I can save an extra $50. Had he included some fancy extras, then I'd consider, but I'm not very interested at the moment, not to mention I'm not in a rush right now, since I'm going on vacation on Friday, and will only be back mid August.

I bought my Bolle 800's from Botach. It's legit. Yeah they also list their stuff on eBay, so at least there I'd be covered by their buyer protection plan. I was looking at the Bolle x900, they look quite similar to the Smith Boogies, which is a plus IMO. Maybe I'll check them out for boots too, and I(and by I, I mean gear whore me)also want some hard knuckle gloves, but that's unnecessary. Thanks for the heads up on Botach, I'll look into them, and if they don't rip me off I'll be happy to give them business!
I just think it's odd that they're on clearance for $60 on LAPG, but they're $20 on Botach...

Dude Don't be too picky on Color, there are guys here who can make any color gun look awesome. P.S. Not all Masada's Are bad. The A&K Ones are Hit or miss from what I hear and the Magpull One's are actually made by Magpull aka the company who originally designed the Masada ACR. So they can't be too bad.

Dude Don't be too picky on Color, there are guys here who can make any color gun look awesome. cough cough, M.S. ARC Take this as a reply to both of you(blister, remember?); Yeah as snarfdog mentioned, I COULD paint it, but then I'd be concerned about clearance on the rails for accessories and the like. I'm just NOT a fan of tan guns AT ALL. I'm just a really big fan of black rifles, and anything else doesn't really appeal to me. I do have a LITTLE interest in black rifles with tan hardware, but an all tan rifle? Not so much... Also, about the Masada, I'm still a fan of the design, but as the majority suggested, I'd rather get an AR variant, especially one as reliable as the G&G. About Magpul, trust me, I know a lot about Magpul's products. I've been obsessed with their product line since I found out about the PDR when Battlefield 3 came out almost 2 years ago. If it came out on the real steel market, and I saw one at a store, I'd buy one on the spot, get it SBR registered and put the shortest barrel available on it. That shit's just so damn sexy, both functionally and aesthetically. PS: Can anyone link me to a pic of this M.S. ARC and his tan rifle? I want a reference point.

Other people in the RS section have had issues with them in the past though. Not with selling fakes, but issues with their order in some way, if I recall. I don't recall their specific issue. But like I said, I've never had an issue with them.

I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow morning so I won't be doing any shopping for a while, but when I get back I'll probably get everything else I need then. Snarf meant ARC is one of the people who does amazing paint jobs. He has a thread dedicated to it which can be found here Thanks for the heads up!!! The A-TACS FG looks AMAZING! I got the pics from the G&G listing, and it's the hand guard version. As I mentioned before, I really want an RIS, since I want to be able to add an AFG, and later on a laser/flashlight of some sort. That and I want the battery of the gun in the stock, not handguard. I'm a gear whore, I need the customization space!!! However, whenever I get my gun, I'l definitely consider getting it painted in that A-TACS FG pattern! I'm definitely not only for black rifles anymore!!! PS: I'm gonna be packing and preparing all day today, and then I'm leaving tomorrow morning at 4AM, so I might not reply until a few days from now. If so I apologize in advance. I'm still interested in getting your input, but I'll be very busy/on the road for the next 3 days. Thank you for understanding!

The RIS isn't too big of a deal, especially when you consider that you can just throw an aftermarket one on for pretty cheap.

Thread's not dead yet!
Can anyone here vouch for the G&G Combat Machine R8-L? Is it the same internals as the raider?
I'm thinking about it because I think I'd like to later on(next summer maybe)get one upgraded into a DMR and well, you know, I got the airsoft itch now haha.

Yeah, the RL-8 is just a more premium looking Combat Machine. I'd suggest going with a full length M16, as opposed to the carbine length M4, for an AR15 style DMR. I can't tell you much about DMRs or sniper rifles in general, but Ranger, a frequent poster on sniper rifle related galleries, knows pretty much everything about them. Here's a link to his profile: miairsoft.proboards.com/user/2781
