I am looking at quite a few sidearms on this forum, on other forums, and new from retail sites. But what are some all around good GBB pistols? Here is a list of what I have found used: KWA M11A1, Sig P226, a few 1911s, and a TM Desert Eagle. Here is a list of pistols I like(pretty much any): 1911s, glocks, SIGs, Deagles, select USPs, Jericho 941 "baby eagle", and a few M9s. I'm pretty open except I don't really like M9s, so if you don't think I'll like it, go ahead and post it, the worst I can say is no(to liking it, of course).

Check out this site: www.justpistols.co.uk/It hasn't been updated with new entries in a while, but it has pretty much everything except maybe some of the newer models from KWA. The guy writes really solid reviews so anything he says about a particular pistol should be pretty spot-on.

If you can afford a KWA/KSC, go for it. Almost all my pistols have been from KWA and I've been impressed with all of them. I hear KSC is mechanically (give or take quality control) the same, but with trades, so even better!

What the hell is a TM "rat-flail". A Desert Eagle. Someone at somepoint made the word filter replace "rat-flail", which sounds moronic, with rat-flail, which evokes imagery of someone beating a rat to death with it.

I didn't even realize I wrote that, I have nothing else to say. I just kinda wrote what was on mike the car guys sale thread, and he called it a rat-flail.

Haha yeah I didn't post rat-flail it did it automatically. In all honesty you might not want that as a secondary;big, heavy, expensive. I got one just to have and it's fun to shoot in the backyard and stare in aww at the amazing hopup. Kwa is a great pistol. Metal where you want it and plastic where you don't. They will work in the cold and wet and will take propane.

Check out this P226: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=commerce&action=display&thread=34985There's also a TM P226 on this forum, but I would much rather have this one because it has 2 mags and super duper holster. Also, I hear TMs are all plasticky, and I have my SIG550 mostly plastic and to be honest, I don't like all the plastic. It makes me uncomfortable that if I drop it it's gonna shatter and I'll have to pick up all the pieces and glue it all back together. Jk my SIG550 is solid, but still, I don't like plastic. Especially in handguns. Also, I kinda want a P226 because not everybody has one. I got my SIG550 because I knew almost nobody else had one. I was considering a sweet Hi-CAPA 1911 that I also knew nobody else had, but it was kind of expensive and stuff, but no big deal. Wow, I feel like I'm ranting. This is fun, like a visit to therapy session, except people are actually listening.

The plastic on TM pistols is of superb quality. In fact the only plastic GBB's that are better are Western Arms in terms of finish.
I happen to have a TM P226 and it, like every TM pistol I've ever used is a great handgun. There really is very little bad you can say about the vast majority of TM pistols, plastic or not.
I don't know why everyone is so down on plastic guns all of a sudden, if you're not a tard and treat them decently, they'll last and perform just as well as a metal one.

Thor the only reason I'm not a fan of plastic guns (GBB) Is that they need to use Duster gas to be long service weapons. I for one can't buy it and hate the smell of it. Propane is cheaper and to my knowledge can be bought by minors (me).

They actually will last longer because most companies that make full metal guns are made out of pot metal which can have lead and other low melting point easily destructible metals. The only metal that is good for airsoft that is really any better than abs plastic would be milled aluminum.

Thats enough guys, if you want to know whether i would rather have a gun that shoots with green gas or duster gas, a propane adaptor for a green gas gun would be much more convinent(sorry cant spell and im on an ipod right now) for me to supply gas for. If you would like to discuss whether its more practical to use green gas/propane or 134a/duster gas, please do it in a different thread, because propane is more practical for me(not to be selfish).
I know its weird, but correct me if im wrong, but i think the sig550 is manufactured by different companies(sig550: swiss arms p226: sig sauer) But yeah, being sponsered would be cool! Also my plans for my CQB gun was actually a sig552(or a p90. Or a mac 11. Or an AUG.)! So yeah, i guess you could call me a SIG fan!

If you have your heart set on getting a Desert Eagle my personal recomendation is getting the off-brand KWC Desert Eagle. It is an awesome gun, despite the fact that it's bulky as all hell. But mine shoots at around 330 fps and is pretty damn accurate. The hopup is better than I thought it would be, and (as far as I know and have read) all TM parts for their Desert Eagle will work on it IE. the guarder full metal kit. I have had no problems with mine and it still shoots the same as when I bought it. For 120 shipped from a retailer I couldn't pass it up and I am anything but dissapointed with it!
BTW I have run it on both propane and green gas, and it shoots just fine on both!
