This is just to probe and test the water. Date/Location: In late summer or early fall of this year, we will be setting up a sci-fi themed event Time: The event will start in the early morning and run well into the night, we are thinking about having a two day event with the option to set up tents on the land, but this like everything else, is still awaiting approval. The event will involve two teams of armed "human"players and a cast of volunteers playing as civillians and zombies. we will be following and enforcing all MIA safety policies regarding engagement range/ FPS/eye protection, etc, with additional specifications and restrictions posted in the future (as of now, [glow=red,2,300]no pyro at all [/glow]will be needed or allowed, this may change, but is not likely to) I am at this time looking for volunteers to play the role of zombies, players, as well as people willing to assist us in construction of the structures that we will be utilizing for the event. Due to the size of the field we have at our disposal, we will probably limit this event to approximately fifty or sixty people playing at once, in total, but that has yet to be determined and is just a ballpark figure.(further details pending) Unlike the indoor games presently hosted in Farmington, this will be outdoors, with a different set of rules for "zombies" and so firing full auto will be allowed. Players will however be limited with regard to the amount of ammo carried and the capacity of magazines. (further details pending) If interested please post a brief reply here or PM me regarding this event. I would really like to get some assistance from some of the experienced hosts, such as TFI, on this one as they have setup some kickass stuff in the past and I would like the benefit of their experience with regard to hosting and safety considerations. For further information, or to see where we are in the planning phase, please see the coresponding section on Semia semiairsoft.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=plan&action=display&thread=1292&page=19Thanks in advance for the interest! NOTE: this is an edit of the original post from 2009

Okay, I just read through all nineteen pages and have a few suggestions for you.
1.) You for sure need a specific target placed upon the Zombies that equal a hard to get kill. I suggest something that can be worn around the neck and hangs down to the chest, but looks like a Pustule (big zit) around 3-5 inches, and is reusable. So something that makes a distinctive noise or "pops" would work. The Zombies carry spares around and place one over the neck of newly infected. I am thinking paint some disposable styrofoam bowls red/black/yellow/green and then just run some cord through them. When one is shot up the Zombie can just replace it by threading a new bowl on.
2.) When a Zombie is "Killed" they should not go to a respawn point. It would look a lot better to have the "Virus" that concentrates in the Pustule slowly build back up over a set time limit and then the Zombie is "healed" and gets up again. It would just be weird looking to see "Dead" Zombies go back to a respawn point to come back to Unlife...
3.) If you use the previous two ideas, here's a fun scenario. You start off with your original Zombie/s that get loose in a pure civilian area. They slowly infect civilians, who are armed with reasonable civilian weapons (pistols, shotguns maybe). After a certain time or number of infected goal is reached, a small better armed group is deployed to place strategic Zombie bombs around the town. Since the Zombie's cannot ever be totally killed by conventional means, these special bombs MUST be placed in key areas around the town to kill all Zombies permenatly. The game goes on until all bombs are placed and not intercepted by Zombies or panicking civilian riots.
I would be interested in going to this depending on date and location. Since I am extremely lazy I wouldn't mind being a Zombie as long as I don't have to constantly hoof it to a respawn(see idea #2). I don't have an account on your other site so either please inform us here or let me know whats up.
Thanks!!!

Thanks for the input and interest! We are already planning on using small pie plates or pans made of very thin metal or possibly small pizza trays, they will be brightly colored and afixed to the front and rear ofthe zombie's chest to allow for "head shots" without actually shooting the player in the face. This was posted in the thread on Semia, but as you noticed its about 19 pages so you may have missed it. To go along with the "headshot" kill requirement, the zombies hit anywhere other than the marked area will only be "knocked down". This will mean that they sit where they are and count to 10 or something like that as the scenario dictates (details still pending), but we have a few ideas regarding this matter. As for the respawn thing... we are planning on zombies leaving the immediate area when killed, mainly because we are not going to have enough zombie players to make the thing look realistic in the sense of an epic battle with hundreds of bodies piled up sky high. Another reason is to give the zombies a chance to rest (they are still human after all) I am somewhat confused by your other points but I would like to hear more of your ideas. Please share them with us on the Semia thread which has the link posted above. For future replies, please guys, post the input/criticism for the zombie ideas on the Semia thread semiairsoft.proboards45.com/index....ad=1292&page=19, we really do want it, but this thread is intended to poll for potentially interested people so we can get a rough estimate of how many would attend (and hopefully how many experienced hosts will help me set this up) Once again, thanks for the interst/input, keep it coming! Keep adding to the semia thread on Zombies, help us make this an epic event!

Sounds fun, I'd be interested too. I had a fun time volunteering in playing the few Zombie games at the Hellfish games at the Farmington CQB, myself and X had a good ambush going one of the rounds....
Just as it's not a free for all on the Zombies, because I did get hit (single shot of course) most likely from a GBB but man did it hurt!

I'm in for civillians. So long as I can wear blue jeans a t-shirt. as for helping out with building and such send me a PM with the location and times your looking for help, if its close enough and I'm available I would love to help out. I do however only have limited transportation at the present due to a suspended license.

We are looking into free entry for zombies and yes we want fast ones. We are not trying to make money on this, just cover most of our expenses. The Zombies would be some what superhuman since they would only be killed by "head" shots, which would require shooting a metal pie-plate fastened to the front and rear of the zombies chest. Other hits only knock them down for a moment, then its back to eating people! I would love to have X come and be a Zombie, then we could have the zombie-cam effect! please post any suggestions on the Semia thread listed above, I am always glad for constructive input! I plan on getting this going very soon, even though some ass-tards on this forum keep smiting me!

A zombie scenario could go either really well, or infinitely suck. If you think you can work out all the kinks involved with unarmed airsofters and close ranges then kudos to you.
I would definitely be up for something different like this. Good luck to you Redknight.

personally i think the pie plates are too easy to hit they need to be a smaller target.

Silent, Thank you for your enthusiasm and interest, we will welcome you with open arms and blood covered claws! Before I go on, however, I have to ask that you please read and mind the forum rules regarding double-posting as the admins may get righteously pissed and warn or ban you. (I didn't make these rules but we are both guests here) Back on topic, for this event we will be looking at limiting ammo as well as prolonged shootouts. Pie plates are supposed to be easier to hit so players don't have too hard of a time killing a zombie (please see the link above for details on the Semia thread regarding this) on the other side of the issue, we want the zombie player to be able to clearly hear an impact, metal pie plates make a nice, sharp "ping" or "crunch"noise when hit. In any case please feel free to comment and criticize, but please do so on the Semia thread so we can compile it all for use in setting up this event. Silent, Koenig, and Kazz thanks for the continued interest! I will let you know when we are ready to do this thing! we will be needing the following: Zombies: 15 to 20 team players: 30 on 2 or 3 teams of no more than 8 - 10 people refs: 6 (I would like to have at least 6 for a really good ratio to supervise and help operate all the props and generators when needed) Role players:4 or 5 would be nice So far we have: Zombies: 1) Koenig 2) Redmond 3) X 4) BigJ 5) Gunny87 PLayers: 1 Tweek 2 Troubador 3 Brickman 4 Silentdeath124 5 fred Refs: 1) Redknight 2) El Phantasamo Role players: 1) El Phantasamo If you do not see your name on the roster being formed above, it is only because I was not certain where to put your name(s) at this time (no offense intended we are not trying to alienate or ignore anyone, except Troubador j/k). Please post or modify a previous post to list a team or if you wish to be a Zombie, listing at least two choices would help us, and listing a preferred group of friends who wish to be placed together helps us even more! We will be selecting the refs, but will consider any [glow=red,2,300]experienced [/glow]players with a [glow=red,2,300]good reputation[/glow] for fair play who wishes to volunteer. [glow=red,2,300]I have a very important question and I would like to poll for an answer here[/glow]. What age requirement if any? ie 14, 16, 18....
