*ding* Gotta agree with that one. Minky, I feel a lot better after doing this, it's just that I can't stand it when people argue with me over things that I don't agree with (I have nothing else to say...). I can't say that I agree with most of anything that Viking said, but I'm going to talk to him and compromise a little (if possible). ;D I think we should have just talked about this on PM, or the SEMTEX forum, or Viking wouldn't have gotten so peeved at me. ;D (hado, if you could lock this, please)

Phew, glad things were resolved. Like Minky said, it wouldn't be the same without you. If you just stopped coming to Vikings games, then that means you wouldn't be coming to team events either... and that's a bad thing beacause you know we always roxor Newman! ;D Everyone gets a couple war scars eventually, sheesh..just look at my chin! *me waves @ Frostee* And before this is closed I really urge everyone to read Pikachoads "Surrender Rules" over at www.airsoftplayers.com . I'm not saying Newman should have surrendered or anything like that since Viking really didn't have the upper hand or control of the whole situation..but it could really help out in future events.

Hey guys, just popped in to see what has been going on and I stumbled across this thread. As some of you may know, I am very opinionated and frequently stick my nose where it doesn't belong. I am afraid this time will be no exception. This whole argument comes down to one simple fact: Technically Viking did nothing wrong because there were no rules in place to be broken. These are the kinds of incidents you can expect to happen when you play anarchy airsoft. On a non-technical basis, from what I have read, the AK in question was used in an irresponsible and unsafe manner, regardless if one was asked to surrender or not. If someone would have done that to me, I probably would have attempted to beat the crap out of them. Since Newman is younger & smaller, he didn't really have that option. Therefor you can't really expect him to confront you face to face (hence the two face remark probably wasn't really appropriate, but rather understandable.). Like I have stated in the past, women and children (no offense intended to the MiA youths) are not as rugged as some of us full grown men. I have first hand proof of this with my wife, who was shot at close range with an upgraded gun (approx 10 feet, 380fps), and 5 months later she is still seeing a hand specialist, getting all kinds of funky braces made to try and correct the damage the upgraded AEG did to two of her knuckles (all the while the doctors bills pile up). Surgery may be the final solution (yea! more doctors bills!) Hopefully, every one here is playing airsoft to have fun, and I while I think that most people here would agree that bloody welts are not fun, they know they may be a side effect of the fun. Therfore, we all go into this knowing that may be a possibilty and with that knowledge we take a calculated risk. So when someone else goes outside the parameters that we used to make that calculation, I feel they have a right to be upset with that individual. As always, that's just my $.02, and it may not even be worth that much. Please feel free to disagree.

Hadoken, I guess we had a misunderstanding...
Viking and I would like this locked, then when you tell us, we'll post what happened..
But seeing as this is unlocked, I'll just tell everyone that Viking and I got everything sorted out and have no hard feelings towards each other.
Hado, maybe lock this again, until Viking wants to say something?

Newman, I feel for you man. I would hate to be playing a game and have someone hurt me but worse is the cover up. I don't care is you were offered a surrender he had no right to shoot. Has the unnamed person ever thought of using the "knife" kill? It really is hard..... extend all of your fingers like a knife and "cut" the person and they are dead. No shooting at close reange and nobody gets hurt. This is exactly what we at MACTeN (http://macten.hyperboards2.com) are hoping to get rid of before some kid and I do mean kid (under 18) will have his parents sue the shit out of you, the team, the manufactorer, your family or all the above! This is not exceptable and to justify at least 3 welts is bull. One shot was all that was need to make the point when he didn't surrender. One bb kills any other time why was more needed this time. I would like the unnamed person to step up so that I know who I don't want to get shot by since they have so little requard for others and their feelings or their health. I know that is a pipe dream ;D but does everyone get my point? Since I find myself at odds AGAIN with Viking I an sure I will be shot at again for not playing nice here. If anyone else would like to join, vent, or just look for new toys in our 4 sale or trade area drop by : macten.hyperboards2.com

that's why you require a handy-dandy disclaimer... as Viking stated, his disclaimer disallowes all responsibility...so much, in fact, that he can go out back and shoot you with a real rifle and you can't do shit. ;D

I understand the waiver thing but does that preclude using common sense? Is this why he has such an iron clad waiver? Is it so that he can abuse those that play with him? Lot's and Lot's of questions!
Now I see why he and Newman wanted this thread locked. Sure makes the sport and those that play it look like a bunch of John Waynes with lobotomies!

you're assuming something, Gypsy. You are assuming that someone is at fault here... last i checked, it's not considered a crime unless someone wants to press charges...and Newman has already said that he's settled the score with Viking. Just because you feel that it was wrong for him to engage at that range...doesn't make a bit of difference to this case. look at it this way...you were not there...you did not see the event take place...and you're basing everything on second hand information.
I was present at the Event...I saw the exchange../
This is a risk you take...you know that there is always the possibility of a welt or other injury.... Hell, i've seen pictures of guys in woodland with broken ankles hobbling out of an ER on crutches.
heres what it boils down to: Newman doesn't have a problem with it...he was the person involved...so drop it...this is yet another thing that should be handled in PM messages...not open slandering.

cough cough libel cough
And....even though it is a written waiver, and ven though it still says that you absolve him and whatnot from legal responsiblity, doesnt mean you cannot be charged with CRIMIANL charges. Waivers, (unless written and notarized by actual lawyers) have more weight in the civil court rather than criminal.
If viking took me out back, and shot me with a real gun, either accidentally, or purposefully, he would be arrested on the criminal charges, and in some instances voids the waiver for him to be charged civillay.
