Well, I just dropped my throat mic off to get looked at, and depending, should be "fixed" within a couple of weeks. There was a loose wire in one of the microphone thingy's and a new adapter needs to be attached. I must say...the look on the guys face when he saw and, and asked where I got it...was one for the scrapbook.

That's wild.....I guess I'm stuck with my inline PTT mic. It'll suit me for now, but they give you so much damn cord...it all gets caught up on my gun and branches. I'm just rambling. Anyway, that's really cool. I've never seen one of those anywhere.

and u wont see one. Unless I'm too lazy to spell a full word out. Please mock me. join the force and become a SWAT member, or join the military, which they are stil rare there also. So, Motown is just one lucky bastage. U may find sum imitaition ones, but they are total crap. If u want a real one look to pay around $600, last i saw. NOT including the bribe

... which is odd. Throat mics have been used by aviators since WWII; you'd think they would be more common today.

Yeah, i would have thought so also. However, it is a bit of a different concept nowadays then it was during WWII. Those were just so that the pilot didn't have to have the regular mic that would get in the way. The ones that they used didn't amplify the voice at all. The new-age ones actually amplify the vibrations in the throat. I still dont know why they aren't used very much, i guess they moved onto better, er... cheaper things(com'on, this is the military we're talking about )

I believe I remember reading somewhere that the lack of use of throat mics in our militaries is simply do to the fact they don’t work very well. I dunno, it’s been like half a year sense I read up on the subject but I am pretty sure its cause they just are not reliable.
