Check this out (scroll down about 4 products) www.air-soft.com/xtremeprecision.htmIt's something that detects body heat. You can use it as a hand tool or attach it to your gun. It is supposed to be only used outdoors. I guess it tells you it detects something by lighting up that green light in the back. Kind of primative. Price: 9,800 JPY or 79.94USD Question: What are you buying for $80?

No it doesn't zoom. I just wish they came up with something like that for indoors. Man that would be great!

You may just as well spend 1 or 2 grand and get something good, like what the FD uses. forgot the smiley

Looks like something I'd break just taking it out of the box.

I wonder why it's outdoor use only. I seems perfect for CQB. I would just mount it on the left rail of my SR-16, make a little electrical tape shade, and watch for the green LED to light up

They are in Canada...and they are the leading retailer. Who do you think is better? APEC sponsor huge games in Canada, me and my buddies were gonna go to their 24 hour scenario over the summer but we couldn't take the time off of work.
My guess is that you can't use it indoors is because it's not a strong sensor. If someone's behind cover it would not be able to pick up a strong enough signature. It does seem perfect for CQB if it could use it.

that seems a little cool but not for 70 something bucks, i would like to use it on my sr sniper rifle, i can just imagine, laying there at night, ghillie suit on and covering me looking through my scope an daiming that thing at them and popping off a shot and hearing, out! I have nothing else to say, too bad its not a scope

Airsoft is legal in Canada.
I think the best application of this tool would be something like a sniper rifle. As long as you're not shooting at something too far I'm sure that it could have some useful operations.

well. considering this thing probably isnt the greatest thing ever, im wondering if it would even detect a far distance away, (further than my gun that is) cause mpore than likely when my sr is al done, (awaitning its arrival thurs.) it should be able to shoot a good 75 to 100 yards pretty accurately considering i will be using .30s or .35s and upgrades and a tight bore barrell. Plus a bipod and ghillie suit, I am wondering though, would it detect animals or what? cause man that owuld suck giving away my position cause of a god damn deer. It seems like a cool idea if only it were like on splinter cell. oh well, not looking anf=y further into it . rather have a tracer unit
