Im new to airsoft and searching for a good, preferably low proce, sniper rifle. I found the UHC super 9 for 80 dollars and it says it goes 410fps. I found that on airsplat.com. All other sniper rifles ive found are around 200 dollars or more and dont have near that power. Whats the deal with this? I know the super9 is spring but will it really be that fast? why are the other ones so much more expensive?

Super9 is trash. Might go 300FPS if you're lucky.
Stay away. Save your money.

First and bottom like
ANY UHC Super 9 is junk, this should not be called a gun. 410 fps? no way try 41 fps.
Why are they so much more expensive, because they are decent or even good.
Second have you ever even tried sniping? Its a lot different than you would think and people will deffinatly tell you more about this[im not anything close to a sniper].
So for your first buy unless you have tried sniping with a good sniper and have fallen in love with it is to buy a regular old AEG.

For your first AEG you should get a Tokyo Marui, all TM guns perform the same out of the box. There really is no difference between the M4 and MP5 besides cosmetics. If you get the ICS or CA guns you run the risk of them breaking down sooner than others

You know I hear that all the time. But from a repair center stand point here is what we see.
#3 repaired gun - Classic Army #2 repaired gun - Tokyo Marui #1 repaired gun - ICS
I have several months of service logs to support this statement. I know that I am going to catch heck for this but the repairs tell a different story than most everyones opionions. Sorry for the input to all of you Die Hard TM fans.

yes, but the simple fact that there are probably at least 3 times more TM owners than CA owners, of course there will be more guns to be repaired
and yes i own 2 CA guns

One thing to consider, Bill, is how many TM guns exist over CA guns. From a ratio standpoint, I think it would only make sense that TM guns are repaired more than CA guns simply because there are more of them.
EDIT: Ooo, Boanerge beat me to it.

And you also have to take into account how many people fix their own guns. I know Im probably going to be getting an ICS MP5 SD5 soon, and if something goes wrong ill probably try and fix it myself. Maybe its just that more n00bish/unexperienced players buy an ICS and can't figure out how it works and then break it and take it to you. It could very well be the most reliable gun. (just examples, I think we mostly all agree TM is the most reliable)

Actually I did take that into account, the only thing that I did not account for was the percentages of TM's vs. CA. I was actually basing it off of 21 sales, but you are right the percentages are a lot higher on TM guns. I have to agree that TM is one of the most reliable out of the box but as this sport grows and games become more aggresive I can see TM (plastic housings) breaking more than the CA or ICS metal bodies. I just think that the CA guns have a terrible reputation from the past and since the marriage with Armalite there quality has really increased and they should not be passed as poor quality gun or not good for begineers. Take into consideration the fact that they come with metal bushings, reinforced gears and lot of other improvements making them cheaper to upgrade in the long run than any TM. From a buyers stand point almost every player that I know including most MIA members have done some type of upgrade to their gun and most of us have put metal bushings into the gun, springs, gears and god knows what else. By the time you purchase all of those items the CA only requires a 150% spring to hit the 360 fps mark and that is it. Unless you are looking to go above 360 fps.
