hey. im very new to airsoft (shocking isnt it?). anyway, i want to start playing with a few friends. I was thinking of getting some money together and buying:
an AEG an electric pistol (bad idea?) maybe a shotgun?
a few questions here. the different aeg's, are they really different? i mean buying them stock, besides the slight fps difference is everything else cosmetic?
can anyone give me some feedback on my choices? or some of their expieriences etc?
i was narrowing my choices of an aeg down to
TM-mp5kpdw TM-p90tr TM-mp5ras TM-ak47 spetznaz TM-fa-masf1 TM-UZI
KSC-M11A1
now looking at another website i no longer see electric pistols so im thinking they arent a great idea.
so gas pistols
TM-Beretta m92f TM-Desert Eagle TM-MK23 Socom TM-Python 4 Inch
i was thinking of getting some spring pistols so my friends could play.
im not gonna list them because i havnt though of any.... but does anyone have any reccomendations?
second part, what type of bbs should i get? for each gun websites reccomend different size bbs.
i was looking at 21 century airsoft for this list.
anyway if anyone can answer these questions id be very greatful,
thanks.

all those AEGs will shoot about the same as far as range and accuracy are concerned, just get what looks the best to you and you'll do just fine. Electric pistols make excellent paper weights, and that's about it. Shotguns against AEGs will leave you hopelessly outgunned, trust me. For an AEG, use Japanese brand BBs (Excel, Airsoft Elite, TM, etc..), either .2 or .25 should work just fine www.6mmshop.com

not true about the shotgun statement. but anyway if i were you i would start with a m4, and perhaps a tactical master gbb- marui of course- ;D
- i wouldn't suggest any type type aeg other then marui, for a beginner tho.
But, yeah they all fire basically the same, its just the style. and how much you plan on putting into it that matters- personal preference. Like if you want to eventually add a bunch of accessories, such as scope, laser and what not go with a gun that has a lot of mounting room- such as a sr-16, so you don't need to spend hopeless amounts of money on add on ris units and such.
- in the ned tho they all fire 270-290 fps.
i started looking at your ag purchases tho. I own a p90 and i can tell you its kickass, however, i had outragous upgrades on it. On the other hand tho the stock gun is quit nice, the only thing you need to worry about is the fps. It seems like the p90's stock fps is lower, then any stock gun i've ever held or seen fire, - I think I'm the product of two siblings sleeping together.. doy! maybe i9'm just parynoid.
- the famas is a nice choice tho. It fires nice. The only thing i would say is it sort of feels unsturdy. One of my friends has one and it just feels a little different, not as solid as other guns. However, other then that its quit nice.
- i owned a uzi as my first gun tho. Contrary to popular belief i liked it. However, the one i had was upgraded to 350 fps, opposed to stock 270-290 fps. But, all and all its a nice gun, quite accurate, and sturdy as anything. The uzi is really solid, and nicely built.
stock gun = .2 bbs (prefered)
- never put anything less then a .2 g bb in a aeg, or else good bye gearbox.
- btw electric pistol = paperweight, or an ok office toy,I have nothing else to say

1: Buy an AEG. Shotguns are ok, but they really can't compare, and electric pistols are less that worthless.
AEGs - they all work the same...pick whichever you like the looks of best.
Pistols...pick something by KSC, KWA, or Western Arms and you'll be happy. Pick something else, and you'll run the risk of being very, very disappointed.
Don't waste your money on springers. Let your friends shoot your GBB/AEG once, and they'll most likely start saving for their own.
Read the Newbie FAQ, Gas primer, and all the other stickied stuff on these boards. Most of it is excellent info for a beginner to Airsoft.

As far as an aeg I would go with the mp5ras, but they are all good choices. Just make sure it is a TM. For a gas gun my favorite is the Beretta M9KJ. I love the way it looks and the way it shoots.

Tz, there are tons of M92f's. Pretty much every decent GBB manufacturer makes one or more versions of it (off the top of my head, i think maruzen might be the only one that doesn't). Many of those guns are "green/top gas safe." Although no gun is really "green gas safe," if you want me to go into that, I will. Of the guns that are considered safe for use with green gas, TM M9 variants are certainly not among them. There are numerous cases of the slide breaking off near the safety lever when running on green gas. The tac master is no exception to that occurance.

The only differences within the TM line of M9's is astheics. Internally they're all the same.
