I just got my new FA-MAS. I have the charger set at 8.4 volts and 1.3 aH. Is that right? Also, how long do I charge it for. I don't want to overcharge it. Thanks

I have a slick little sheet giving real good battery charging instructions for both NiCD, and NiMH. Stop by and get one, they are free. It should answer almost any battery Q. you might have.

Sorry man, but you're kinda "outta my range". Yer in grand rapids right? I'm not driving up to grand rapids for a piece of paper. Couldn't you just tell me?

The easiest way to do it is to charge it until it's warm. Time how long that takes for the first few charges and use that as your time measuring so you don't have to check it every 5 minutes every time you charge.
There's a formula that somebody is going to post that gives you a time to charge a battery with a certain mAh when the charger has a certain mA output, and you can use that, too. I'd just rather charge it until it's warm.

Per knief's request,
battery capacity/charger output=hours Basically the output of the charger is measured by the hour so if you look at your battery as a container, the size of the battery is the size of that container for this lets say 600mah. Now you charger rate will tell you how quick you can fill the *container*, if that rate is 1.3amps or 1300 mah, then in theory it will take about 30 minutes to charge(quick and dirty math). So it's really not to hard to figure out how long it will take.
Though if your outputting 1.3amps then you have a fast charger as the standard rate of normal chargers is something like 200mah I believe. Sooo check and make certain thats correct.
