I bought a Desert Eagle recently from Academy Sports, and before I picked it up, I saw a different one. It was electric and it could fire semi-auto. Now that I'm using the spring one, I was wondering if the electric one would be better, espically since you dont have to cock it every shot, but required 4 batteries and was a little more expensive. I have a friend who wants to buy the Desert Eagle I have for a little less than what I paid for, and I could save up a little bit more money with the $ I got from selling the other gun. I dont know, though.... Should I stick with my spring or sell it and buy the electric?

Electric Blowbacks are garbage, especially compared to the performance of spring pistols (albeit not much a difference)
Stick with the springer, it's cheaper and "more" reliable, not to mention the associated cost of getting batteries.

If you get a spring one, get the $70 one made by KWC. It's really heavy, really powerful, and has adjustable hop-up. Or just get a Heavy Blow Back gas one

If you spend 70 dollars on a handgun you might as well spend a little more and get a gas blowback.

Gotta go with the group here. Get a GBB, no doubt about it.

If your going to blow $70 on a springer, give me your address so i can come to you house and smack you upside the head.
If your stupid enough to spend that much on a springer iv got some real high quality freeze dried water to sell you, just add water and your set.

There's a big difference. A Tokyo Marui MK23 can shoot a .25 100+ feet and hit a man sized target. An EBB goes like what? 30 or 40?

Comparing functions and functionality of spring pistols and EBB's the differences are small. Ones advantages are the others disadvantages ie- Springers more accurate but single action, EBBs double but lower accuracy and so on.
Judging from the craptasticness of every other spring and EBB pistol besides TM, the performance is nearly the same- crappy, not only in performing reliably, but also accurately.

I'm going to have to disagree. EBBs ROF is meaningless, as they shoot so slow and have such a short range, it is extremely difficult to hit anyone beyond a 15-20 foot range. In CQB, I'd prefer an EBB just barely, but in any other environment a competent springer (the KWC ones aren't too bad either) is far, far, far superior. Of course, either is blown by a good gas pistol, but hey, what are ya gonna do.

Comparing the crapness of a springer to the crapness of an EBB is akin to comparing HIV to AIDS. One is not better than the other when both are severely outclassed by "real" airsoft weaponry.
Are springers better than EBBs? No, they are crap. Are EBB's better than springers? No, they are crap.
Further explanation is neither necessary nor warranted.

Well, HIV is the virus that causes AIDS... So they're almost the same thing. I'd say it is like AIDS and, say, gonorrhoea. I think I can safely say that gonorrhoea is "better" than AIDS, but I'd rather have niether... In the same way, I'd say a springer handgun can be useful in a skirmish, far more than an EBB, though still not much most of the time.
