i have found the dpms ar-15 (aeg) on airsplat for only $189.99 and it looks like a good starter gun. Does anyone know if they are any good at all? ___________________________ I'm having trouble deciding between a few guns. I like the looks of the DPMS ar-15 found on www.airsplat.com. It seems like a good starter gun for me. I'm also considering the V2 ICS mp5 series, but I've heard that they have had some reliability issues in the past. Do you know if these have been cleared up? The last gun I'm looking at is the TM M4. Should I choose to go this route, would I be making a mistake? Thank you very much for your help. I'm sorry I made so many threads when I could have asked them all in one thread like this. _____________________ Edited by Knief Now that's how you make a post here on MiA. Let's try to keep them this way, mmk?#nosmileys

Don't buy it. It is made by Cybergun. Fist of all, all their stuff is POS. secondly, you should be boycotting them. If you want a starter gun, either save up for a real AEG or get a good GBB.

Holy crap cyber-gun makes the DPMS Panther Arms A-15?!?! I was going to buy that gun but decided not to because it was made of plastic, was "off brand", had no upgrades, only shot 162 fps, and probably would have broken if dropped. Shorty USA sells em so we should notify them as to what is going on.(they probably know already but it wouldn't hurt to give advice to boycot selling the panther arms 1-15.)

I don't know how long you have played around airsoft guns, but I learned the easy way to go with tokyo mauri and maybe the new M15 (I think) Classic Army (wathced friends CA and Cyber gun rifles break like crazy).

You can't go wrong with a TM. If you want to be sure to get a reliable gun, buy the TM M4.
V2 ICS guns did have problems. However, many people have been pleased with their V2 ICS guns.
Whatever you do, don't buy the Cybergun AR-15.
So...what it comes down to is this: Which would you rather have, an MP5 or an M4?

Jake,
It realy boils down to what you want. We sell a lot of the M4's and the MP5's to guys like you just starting out. Both guns offer great upgrades and both guns offer lots of options. If I were you I would buy the MP5A4 by TM. The gun is dam near indestructable. This was my first AEG and I put it though its paces and it still works today, even with no upgrades or mods. As a store owner we see fewer MP5's come back for repairs than we do the M4. However, the M4 is also a great gun as well, I love mine. If price is also a concern, then stick with the MP5A4. These are just my thoughts trying to help.

Think about either a TM M4 or TM AK-47. Both are great guns and you shouldn't have any problems because their TM. Their common because their good.
