i was actually planning on buying the ICS MP5 A5 from them, and all ive been reading lately are that ICS is a bad brand. i originally was gonna buy the MP5 A4 TM, but then the only website i found it for the price range i wanted was tokyo model company, and shipping would be a pain in the *rectum*.
oh and another Q...is the MP5 RAS much different from any other MP5 A4 or 5? i mean i know it has a scope and forgrip, but what about internals. im new at this, so please tlak in newb terms, hahaha thanks

ICS guns had reliability issues in the past. Supposedly their QC has gotten much better recently, but many people still don't trust them.
Internally, all MP5s other than the K/PDW are exactly the same.

Basically you get a full metal body and an fps boost(stock, of course). I havent had any problems with my A5...

To answer why people say they aren't good, someone told them they're not(heresay), or they had one take a shit. Either way research, I've had good luck with mine but I could have gotten lucky. Understand what your getting into at least and read allot, airsoftretreat forums have quite a few threads on it if you wade through the bullshit and search allot.

The original series guns were/are complete garbage, hence their bad reputation. Even though they've made strides in their product, they still are regarded as being "bottom of the line" when compared to contemporary AEG makers TM, and Classic Army.

I had a friend purchase an ICS MP5. He paid about $400 for the gun, battery, and charger. The gun didn't shoot very far at all, even after adjusting the hop up.

I have to say, your friend got screwed:) Not only should he have payed half that much for the gun it should have come stock shooting 350 and if the range sucked, he should have put in a new hopup bucking. Either way ICS may have their issues, but most of them are gearbox related and not really much to do with accuracy, mine as about as accurate as my M15A4 RIS, which is just slightly less accurate than My TM M16A2.

All internals aren't the same, arisoft elite has everything upgraded in and out of the gun for mp5's... that includes an upgraded gearboz, motor, and a customized battery... just thought i'd say so

Dead thread.
Luke
EDIT: And the internals are essentially the same between the two, the only differences you will see are version to version. Most people think they are different due to the fact they receive an older ICS gun, and compair that to a new AE gun. Though if you get new guns they will be the same. AE does claim they upgrade some things though it's pretty well been proven to be BS on ASP. The one thing they are supposed to do is check the gun before it ships but for the money I'll take my ICS.
