pretty much all TM AEGs are good, and all peform about the same, which is great. Most people are very pleased with their TM guns. Get what appeals to you, not what you think might be better cuz youll beat yourself up later. (dont get anything but TM unless its under 25 bucks hehe)

If your new, price may be a concern. And if you dont mind an MP5A5, this is what you should get. Its made by ICS and has a full metal body. Retractable stock also. Its great ;D Yea if you need to keep costs low... however TM has a great track record and will normally last longer then the other brands without upkeep...(Atleast what i have heard correct me if im wrong) Since your just getting into airsoft i might advise to save up an extra 100 or so to get the TM(Tokyo Marui) and have it last you, If you take a liking and learn about the guns, then decide if you want the other brands

I would second the TM recommendation for being a first gun. Unless your willing to learn how to fix other brands it's a good choice to go TM. More less TM's are going to last as long as you take care of them. I've been known for running other brands, but I'm willing to take that risk, and it's a risk that I understand. I guess make your decisions, the JungleToy ICS is a good deal for the money, and the one I purchased I am happy with, and hasn't given me any trouble, though it may and at this point I still don't trust it that far. Research and see what you find.

Save up the extra money and get a TM, I bought a ICS MP5A4 and it went to hell in about two weeks. So, save yourself the headach and get a TM, or possibly a CA (i got a CA m15 and it works great, im not sure about the MP5 though i would think it would be just as good quality.) Hope this helps.

The ICS series of MP5's is very dependant on what version the gun is as is AE(airsoft elite) since they use ICS guns. None the less there are allot of issues surrounding some ICS version's though V3+ seem to have less issues. But the same goes for the CA M15's and all other CA guns. CA's original guns before going through allot of CQ and revisions really sucked. Now they really aren't to bad, and mine has held up really well. None the less I'm still not sure I would recommend them to someone new to the sport. And as far as CA and their MP5's I haven't owned one nor handled one, though my understanding is that their bad name started when they made MP5's. I guess they still are not to the point of the M15's currently being released, so if you take any of the other brands you take a gamble. Though with TM chances are you will get a good gun for the long term.

well, im now checking out the MP5 A5, from the link someone posted on this topic. i asked my parents for it for christmas, but im not sure if ill get it. i alo want a cheap sniper rifle to see if i like that more than SMG, so ill prolly get the Super 9, its cheap as hell, and the caseing idea is sweet. i think it would be good to see if i want to spend more money on sniping or not..thanks a lot guys!

Advice, since someone else will say it if I don't...don't waste your money on a super 9. It's a monstrous pile of camel crap.
Oh, and my advice, considering an MP5 as a beginner gun: Go for the full stock (A4)...you'll like never having to worry about battery power, and I have yet to encounter a situation where I wished I had a slither stock (I own an MP5 SD5). You can always buy the slither stock and wiring to make it an A5 later if you choose.

Using a Super 9 or buying one is really a step back from a short barreled MP5 I would say. You should get simular performance from any AEG as the super 9 except with full auto, so I guess I say don't waste your cash. Insteed go ahead and save your money and try a real sniper rifle.
