Moving to the G36 would be a logistical nightmare. The magazines are twice as wide as the M16 mags, which would mean the gear that our soldiers have would be immediately inadequate. Projects like the XM8 use the same mags for a reason.
Oh, and uh... Should we keep beating this dead horse into the ground, or.... We're massively off topic.

SSSHHHHHHEEEEXXXXXYYYYY ;D Switching gears since this thread has been brutally raped anyway, look at that sexy XM8. Already though I see a problem, the optics. Unless those are some uber optics with built in inferred, night vision, thermal imaging, both magnification and non-magnification I don’t like the fact that its built into the actual gun. From this photo and other photos I have seen it doesn’t look like they are detachable. In my opinion one of the most important features of an assault rifle should be customization. Being able to fit your weapon with what ever is required to get the job done is a huge advantage one can have over their adversary… built in optics like what’s on the military aug makes this much more difficult.
