I am looking to purchase my first AEG.
I know I want a gun from the M16 series but I'm not sure what gun I should get. I don't want the gun to be that long but I'd like it to be decently accurate. I was looking at the M4A1 but it only holds the smaller size battery... does that really matter? I'm open to any and all sugesstions on this subject.
thanks in advanced...

Get the gun that you want, if you don't, you won't be happy.
That being said, SR-16's are fabulous. M4A1 size with a big battery that doesn't require spending an extra truckload of money.

If you want an m16 type of gun then get a m16a2 if you dont mind the length, if you like shorter guns then a m4a1 would be a good choice for you, although the m4 holds a mini battery. If you want a shorter gun with a large battery you could get either the sr-16 or a CA m15a4 tactical carbine. In the end it all depends on the on what you like, if you know anyone that owns any of those you should see if you can test it out and see if you like it. I hope this helps because i just did all this research myself to find out what gun i should get.

I'll step in to say that the mini really isn't that large of a disadvantage, unless you choose to upgrade your gun.
There's 3 mini users on my team, and I can't say that theye've ever had to change batts at inopportune times (i.e. mid-firefight).
Like Jacko said, pick out the gun you like most, then buy that gun. There's always ways to add on more battery capacity and other oddments...there's no substitute for the gun you *really* want.

You can also get a high mAH battery for your M4A1 so it would last a lot longer.
