I need people's opinions here, i really like the marui p90, and i am probably gonna get one( maybe with the upgraded gearbox and spring). Does anyone have exp with these? Are they a good first aeg? I know about the short batt life problems, and i know i need some hi-caps, but i got the money, (barely). Its either this one or a FA MAS F1.

I don't have much knowledge on the weapon, however, I know that they're small, really really small.

I sold mine a while back, and I should say, I miss the little bastard enough to want to buy another eventually just to have around. It's a very fine AEG, minus the infamous hicap design flaw.
Is it a good first AEG? Any gun that splits in to pieces and yields its mechbox by pressing a single button is a damn fine beginners AEG.

Yes they rock. as motown stated they are small but even more interesting is the shape and feel of it. My friend has one upgraded to 360 FPS with a tightbore and actual FN P90 silencer. It fricken screams. It could be used as a sniper rifle. But as for stock they do still shoot impressivley and the biggest thing is the ROF is insane.

Way too small for me.
If you're a bigger guy with a bigger frame... it's just way too small to comfortably hold and use. (at least for me.)
Want a representation of a P90? grab one of those 100CD wallets and run around the house going "bang bang bang!" at everything...

A more easily attainable representation of its size is your computer's keyboard. You can see in my Profile pic a silenced P90 that I'm straining to aim, which is why I wasn't comfortable with it as my only AEG and sold it. Many guys my size and bigger are just fine with it though, and there is a stock extension available.

I used the p90 in a game that i joined FLAG and i didnt find my size was too big for it, However if i were to try to use the red dot it would be very akward(sp), Other than that i found it as a pretty good gun, felt good in my hands, and on my shoulder in shooting positon, but you just have to have the right feel for it... Def. hold one before u buy one!

I found that it's comfortable to hold, comes naturally to your shoulder, and is generally a very ergonomically effecient design. However, I just couldn't get over having both hands so close to my body (and so close together). Just didn't feel right to me for some reason. I can't imagine what it'd be like for someone taller than me at 6'. Thus, I'll never own a P90, even though the one I got to play with (Trauby's) shot extremely nice. Oh, and battery life...yeah. That sucker really chews through batteries quick. Mind-numbingly quick. Talisman's G36 can fire 3 times as many rounds on a full charge than Trauby's P90, just as a point of reference (both use mini batteries, and both are stock internally).
Like Andree said...this one is definitely one you should hold before you buy. Play a game or two with it if you can find someone to loan you one. It's definitely an acquired taste...for that matter, most bullpups are, IMO.

Well since i own a f1 and play w/ someone who uses a p90 i guess i should jump in here.
First off, im 6' and my arms are a little long to comfortably hold my friends p90, however i think that stock extension would solve that problem, otherwise its a good gun. like they said, hold it before you buy it. For as small as this thing is it does actually have a longer barrel then an mp5 IIRC. I havent heard of the highcap flaw though, what is it?
On the F1, its definitly not a looker. Being marui's first gun it isnt nearly as detailed as the newer g36 or p90. However i love my famas, mines upgraded to 350 fps w/ a 150% spring and a tightbore barrel. I dont think you can safely go over 350 b/c of the lack of reinforced gearboxes. But 350 fps cuts through the underbrush so its pleanty of firepower and the tightbore gives her more range then my friends 365fps ak47. hope that helps

I forgot to tell you... I am 6'4" My hands felt good on it but now that i think about it, with the m4 and some others that ive used, you could point the gun around corners and aim with I'm too lazy to spell a full word out. Please mock me. hands moving, but i found with the p90 it felt weird to do that. I usally aimed with my shoulder, just put the p90 on it and turn my body. That was more comfortable with me, so if u hold I'm too lazy to spell a full word out. Please mock me. guns like an ak, it may feel weird, but if u hold it like swat and their mp5's u may feel just right

Hicap flaw = they dont work/suck ass/other really really bad things.
They just dont feed right, I think it's got to do with the vertical vs. horizontal, personally... But i've never cracked one open and looked. Trauby's P90 hicap(s?) never work for him, funny, you can hear him mid-fight smackin his hicap to get it to feed ;p
As for the gun itself... I like the feel of it, It's just too small for me... hands are too close together. I didnt notice it changing my accuracy, however. Just felt wrong. Also - Dont be fooled by looks. The P90 is just as accurate as most other AEGs... Trauby's got a scope for his, and i'd say 90% are dead center at ~60 ft.
Famas... Not sure on the actual gun itself. The one I saw looked wayy to plasticky for me... but the ROF is supposed to be insane. Like the overall design tho, I may actually pick one up for the helluvit sometime ;p

Alright sounds good. Yea i'll hold it before i buy it, i'm not just gonna go spend 200 bucks on somethin if i don't try it first. I'm gonna try to get the one with the silencer, it has extra rails doesn't it? i wanna mount a laser sight on it since the you guys say the scope is hard to look through. wts is probably the best place to buy right?

Yes, get the P90TR (Triple rail). You will be a lot happier with it then the P90. The gun feels awesome, but I have so many hicap problems. I'm thinking of just sticking with on hicap and buy 2 more standards. Its better to shoot 68(no more can fit, I've tried) rounds continously then fire 50 and have a mag prob. I am a 5'10" person, but my strange body posture fits the gun well. If you ever play with me, you'll see what I'm talking about. I've also added a 4x30 scope from Airsoft GI. Its 70 bucks, but I love the friggen thing. Its small and never fogs [edit] Oh, forgot to mention, be carefull about upgrading the barrel. It might have been my fault but I have had problems with the Systema barrel I added. I finally took it off, but it was a waist of money since the barrel kept chopping bb's and spread the shreds inside like cake. I'm making it sound worse than it was but it still sucked when you heard a very loud "ding" from the bb hitting the inside of the silencer. I never use the silencer now since I don't have a barrel sticking out, but the silencer DOES work. I'm gonna put it on my AUG as soon as I fix it. [/edit]

Just to note a personal preference: I owned the standard P90, and the more realistic FN replica silencer, which together I find more desirable than the Marui TR model. The TR just doesn't have the same charm IMO.
